I like the sentement, I have always prefered Rugby to football, a game few Americans dare play it seems, not nuff padding or crash helmets.

There are a lot of clubs in the US, most colleges have teams, some high schools and getting to be a good number of women's teams. The team I was with in the 70's would get 2 sides out every week and about half a side for a C game. They play 2 seasons a year.

I don't play rugby because my father played for 19 years and now he needs to have both his knees replaced.

My younger brother took up the sport at college and in the first 3 months hurt his knee.

See, I was smart. I took up ice hockey and I only tore all the ligaments in my shoulder. It hurt, but I can walk straight!

At this point Hockey belongs in the WWF. Fighting has become an expected part of the game.

Play a sport with no padding and you don't need fights. Of course I mean no protection, at all, nothing worse than having a protection item shift a little then get hit.

Did ya'll hear about the rugby player that got fined and thrown out for bitting off another guys male parts in a rugby game?.. I'll stick to padded and protected games. I like my parts where they are.
-Steve, thought rugby was cool till I heard that.

I've seen a lot of cheap shots in the course of a game but never played a game where both teams did not go to the bar after to sing a few umm... hymns, yeah that's it hymns.

Well, as to bad hits in rugby, I saw a guy get his 'imporant parts' torn open by some cleats during a ruck. He just tucked em right back in and kept playing. I have some serious respect for rugby players because of that.

By the way, I'm pretty sure the Army rugby team would give almost any professional European or Australian team a run for their money(Barring rule changes, give em a little time to learn em and it'd be a good match). I saw Army completely mess up my schools team, which isn't that bad a team.

-Iron

P.S. Mind you, Army's team is composed of football players who have lost too much weight to play their position well anymore. Think big, strong and fast... then multiply that by 4.
