Gathering dates: October 15-16. This should be plenty of notice!!
I'm planning to camp there as I hear theres crazy things that happen at night, and it will be really fun! Anyone who wants to join me will be more than welcome, have a decent sized group already planning on it. Lets make this the first Annual DR-Texas gathering!
North Texans wanna carpool? I wanna go to Hangmans House of Horrors (Killer Haunted house in Fort Worth) friday night, so we can make a 3 day weekend of it for those interested.

I'm actually pretty new to TX, and it sounds interesting... but Texas is friggin HUGE! I'm used to the compact confines of NJ ;) Whereabouts is the fest going to be held?
And of course admission prices and whatnot would be nice, as social workers get paid just a bit more than being an indentured servant.

Theres the ren faire info. If you are not near Houston and want to carpool, let me know, I am sure I could hook you up with someone going from your area.
I'm already excited! Get in touch with me as it gets closer via AIM if you are going. If we can get more than 25 of us to go theres a great group ticket rate. Otherwise, advance tickets are $16 (by september) at the gate tickets are $21.

now this is a surprise
I was seriously starting to think I was one of about 2 DR Texans. This folder never gets any love.
I'll check out that link and what I have going on for the posted dates. Sounds like it could be fun.
You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty, we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Ah but that never hurt noone

Going south? They had so much construction on the south bound lanes last night for some reason. They even shut down the lower deck even though i didn't see any work being done on it. Go figure

Yep... Dallas to SA is not a fun drive, and even less so when you're getting sooo close, with great time, only to find construction workers sitting on the medians chatting away, and probably laughing at the silly commuters stuck in the pileup.

Re: Austin Traffic (was:Texas Ren Fest Get-together) on 08/15/2005 01:35 PM CDT
Traffic in Austin has been pretty bad with all the construction jobs they have been undertaking. 290-71 interchange, 71, SH 45, SH 130, 183A, just to name a few. I thought this was alot until I went to Huston yesterday, I think they are working on every major highway they have. Poor commuters

College Station? I hate the town myself.
Too small.
Gimme a large city with 2 million 30-screen theatres, 100,000 night clubs and is actually closer to a spring break location so I oggle the ladies in bikinis, mud, whipped cream, and cold water.
I know a Gemstone player in Dallas, a Gemstone player at Texas A&M, and then there's myself, who plays both games, in Houston.
Next person who spells it Huston gets beat.
