I just recently moved to Houston, and Traethe is going to be visiting in October. Anyone around the Houston area interested in meeting October 19th or 20th? Anyone, anyone? :)

Hmm, I dunno if I can meet, seeing as how I'm in class right now (WHOOP!), but, it'd be interesting to see what other players of Elanthians live in the H-town.

I'm very, very new to the area, so if you have some restaurant ideas, I'd love to hear them. Recommendations I have so far from asking a few Houstonites: Joe's Crab Shack, Pappadeaux, and a pizza place whose name I can't recall right now (Fizzy, Fuzzy, Spiffy, something like that).

Volki recommended a Mexican Restaurant called Papasitoes on Richmond and Hillcroft (about $10-15 a head), and then for those that would like to stay later, there's a BYOB club (18+) next door with a great patio for chatting (Volki knows the owner and can get the cover charge down to $7, possibly more if we have a larger group).

I'd like to try and make it. Can't make any promises though, it's about a 200 mile trip for me. But I'll see about getting down there to visit my brother that weekend so it won't be a one-day trip. I'll need a map of some sort, I've only been through Houston once and I wasn't driving. :-(

okay, the 411 is this:
Clubs in houston will not get busy till about 10 or 11, and anytime on the weekend after about 6pm, you can expect an hour wait at any resteraunt (other than Denny's or Mickey D's) personally, I would rather not hit a Subway or Burger King on the weekend (since I get pleanty of it throughout the week). So Papasittos (a nice mexican resteraunt) will suffice. (I suggest you eat light as TexMex and booze dun go good together).
Richmond is the best place to meet, casue within a few blocks there is everything you can want (inclusing some gr8 illegal street racing) <-- my home.
Anyhow, There is a nice small "bar/club" in the same parking area as Papasittos, and since I know the owner, and only have to bribe him with a bottle of Parrot Bay, it makes sence.
For those that want to bump and grind, go inside, work up a sweat, then come back out and relax. It is 18+ but they only serve glasses of ice. (I use "glassess" loosely since it is really a styrophome cup). It's BYOB, and I can get the cover charged reduced alot. prolly to 6 ro 7 bucks for the guys, and 5 bucks (to free) for the girls. Of course the owner is sexist, so if the girls are lookin hot, they will just walk in without any questions. But I ciant control that (snicker).
It's a nice place, casue it's the best of both worlds. Not too much dram there unless Julie is around (she's like the drama queen, so if ya meet her, jes ignore her - everyone else does.)
Parking is good, since we have an entire shopping center to ourself. Other than that, go check it out before hand if you want. I am there every saturday night (sitting outside right next to the little black car).

It's pretty simple, coming from Dallas, take 45 south till you see all the buildings. pass them up, and turn on 59 south to victoria, ...... bah ... Im headed out that way, just follow me, and turn on about twenty minutes before I do. Caint miss it.

Well, my plans have changed. I called my brother to make sure I could visit him that weekend so I could meet up with ya'll on the 20th. He informed me he already had plans to go deep sea fishing in the gulf that weekend and offered me a spot on the group. So.....I'm afraid that fishing won out as I've never had the opportunity to go deep sea. I asked, but he's not sure what time we'll be back Sunday. With my luck, though, I'll be so sunburned that I won't feel like doing anything that evening. I'll probably be staying at his house in Katy a few days. I'll jump online to check messages, so maybe I can still arrange to meet up with a couple of you. I'd love to meet all the Houston players I've never met.

sounds like a plan. Keep an eye on our new friend Lily. She may seem harmless at the moment, but be assured, she is quite the stark-raving maniac. Lets hope that she either shows her ugly face soon, or simply goes off the deep end elsewhere so that the Gulf is a safe place come the 20th.

I believe it's still scheduled. I had planned to go, but my plans to join lost out to a chance to do something I've always wanted to do. I hope all that do attend have tons of fun and stay safe. Please keep me in mind if I end up battling Lily as I cling to the railing on a boat in the Gulf. grin
Hey what'cha know Texas finally gotta area to post in too! I believe Hegemonic is in the Houston area. I dunno what his play.net addy is though. I'll try to let him know to come stick his self over this way. We have a few people in my area of Dallas/Ft. Worth a GM, some thieves, some barb. We all get together every once in a while.

I'm about 100 miles south of Dallas, estimated about 200 north of Houston. So hopefully if my truck holds up, I can make gatherings in either place from now on.

I'm closest to the Fairfield exit off of 45. The one time I've been to Houston, I didn't drive, so I didn't know the exact mileage.
