Well, I was only half happy with the outcome, but at least they were all close games. Kinda crazy.

history is certainly on the side of the pats. for some reaon the colts started playing defense. i dont know how that happened. should be a good game, I like the pats though. (oddly enough in the ole playoff football pool i went from my original pick of the ravens to the colts, score!)
as for the saints bears game. as a bears fan. i'm kinda nauseous thinking about the bears defense agaisnt the saints offense. rex made a few bad discisions but over all played pretty good against a banged up seahawks team. if he plays simularlly, they'll prolly stand a chance. homefield should count for something, this type of bears team has recently played horrid in bad weather, but in this match-up i think if the weather turns south, it might favor the bears a bit. saint prolly win, but go bears! :)

The Colts need alot of help, I agree.
2 TDs and 8 FGs in 2 games from a historically poor playoff team doesn't look like a winner to me. Compound that by Mannings stellar 1 TD 5 INT performance thus far. I'll give him a break against Baltimore, but the KC secondary was a cupcake matchup (the only pass DEF that was worse was SD).

brady was great in the family guy! plus he has good taste in movies. i'm a fan of later round starters. oh he's great in them visa commercials too. he's swell. i hope that colt/patriots game comes down to the kickers. i mean. i dont care which kicker, but it would be awesome if either team wins based on whatever the kicker does. potential for booyah time is always a plus. love it.

I hate the patriots with a passion. I'm tired of hearing the word Dynasty and never want to hear it again. All the coaching staff, new and old (you suck, Weiss!) drives me up a wall. There is only one football team outside the AFC West that I hate more than the Patriots....
And that is the Colts.
I can no longer root for an AFC team and despite my saying that the NFC sucks (which it does), I'm no forced to hope the Saints beat the Bears and win the super bowl. I can stomach a Bears super bowl and I can begrudingly accept (though NOT like) a patriots win, but if the football gods have any favor for me at all, they will let both Manning boys be the new Dan Marinos.

My picks
Bears vs Saints - Bears will win hands down unless Rex Chokes. They really just have to focus on the running game and the offensive line giving Rex time to make a good choice.
I hate Pats so Colts better win. Just so the Bears can beat them in the Super Bowl.

More sarcasm from me...
>It's Manning's year to reach the big game.
Why? Because Indy's newly discovered defensive concept of 'cover 2' will stop the Patriots, because Manning has been overly successful against 1 sub-par (2nd worst) pass D and got blanked by a good one (1 TD, 5 picks so far, remember), or because past history has shown he can get the job done and doesn't fall apart like a 5 year old girl [ also insert how pathetic Marvin Harrison's numbers are in the playoffs here]?
A 4th option, the laws of probability may apply, because even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
Indy may win, but it will not be as a result of Peyton Manning, unless you count his cheer leading efforts. "Cut that meat!"

>The Colts defense has stepped up the last few games.
No argument. My point was that its really not that special. Looking over the performance of the Indy defense the last few years (playoffs only), they have been fairly consistant by giving up 18ish ppg average (not counting that Jets 41-0 rout).
The offense on the other hand has only gottent them 14 ppg average, which is a huge dropoff from thier regular season average of 22. Indy's losses aren't usually attributed to the defense letting them down, its the offense (read: Manning and Harrison) failing to get the job done.
I'm going to throw in a small disclaimer here. Although I live 10 miles from Foxboro, I am a transplant from CT, and have been a NYG fan for about 20 years, or at least as long as I can remember. I'm certainly not rooting for NE, but find it hard not to respect the accomplishments of Brady/Belichick in spite of what the knobs on ESPN overhype. Looking at the numbers, and history I don't think its a stretch to predict Peyton falling on face again.
>vs Saints
I like the Saints over Chicago as well.

From my point of view... to say that this is his year because he's dorked it 3 years in a row is equally simplistic. Thats why I offerred his current year playoff performance as indicators of how crappy he is once again playing.

Naw, Bubba was too vague to get modded. For example, you could substitute something totally benign like "jump" in for that. Or, cry. Or even puke.
However, if it were something more definitive like this, it might be a different story.
If the Pats do end up winning, I will <<edited to prevent Board Monitor hyperventilation>> down one leg. :)

DECAF!
Manning is a better actor this year than football player, in the playoffs.
as a bears fan, obviously rooting for them for the win, I think they have a decent shot at it, I like how the bears match up with the saints, and I think the field conditions footing/crowd are going to play a decent role, it should be a good game, with that being said, I'm rooting for the colts to play the bears in the superbowl. DECAF! DECAF!
