Slight problem has been found with our bookings. Some people have booked into GemStones room block. I'm reposting the following Yahoo group message here:

OK, I just read all of the emails on this subject so far. I was the person who worked the deal with the Frontier and tried to get the best rates, rooms, etc. possible. When I first spoke with them, sitting in the sales offices with a lady named Yvonne, we decided to use the name of VegasCon - DragonRealms. Trust me, I saw it in the computer and it's in there exactly that way. VegasCon - Gemstone was entered into the system first, so when they look up a room block by typing in "VegasCon", the Gemstone room block comes up first I believe, since it was actually booked earlier than ours. Please call now and double check that you are actually in the correct room block, as this affects our contract.

As for the questions about why two different bookings - let me try to answer it diplomatically. VegasCon has always been handled under two different bookings. One for GemStone, one for DragonRealms. The basic reasoning behind this is because it was always set up by the players of the particular game and the money was always separate, which is how it was explained to me. In the future, I'm sure we could possibly look at combining the two groups into one VegasCon group, but right now, this is how it's being handled. All of the penthouse suites are on the same level, so we will definitely be in close proximity to each other, party-wise. Both DragonRealms and Gemstone have the exact same deal regarding pricing, room blocks and comp'ed suite. If we don't make 50 rooms in our block on peak night, we have to pay for the second suite or drop it. One or the other.

Again, I urge you to contact the Frontier ASAP to verify that you are booked under the correct group. If you do run into language problems, try the best you can to work through them and if you still can't find out if you are booked correctly or not, hang up, call again and hopefully you will get a different operator.

And as Geoff said, if you have not booked your room yet, please do not delay. Please book as soon as possible, even if you only book one night right now. We only have to meet the block of 50 for ONE NIGHT, so every little counts.

If anyone has any problems at all getting their room booked or verifying which block they are in, please email me at jewelygem@aol.com along with the name your reservation is made under and your arrival date. I will contact the hotel myself with the information and ensure you are in the correct block. If you are calling during business hours and are having trouble verifying your block, as the hotel operator for the sales office and speak with Mike. He can ensure you are in the correct block.

I am also going to try to contact the sales office this week to see if we can use the overflow of the Gemstone block to cover rooms on our block. I'm not sure if it will fly, but it's worth a shot. :)
