Thanks for a wonderful Con. It was my first time ever going to any DR related convention, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

<<Yea to everyone who had fun or made it home safe. Some rumors said Wrytt had a interesting event or encounter I guess. But nothing I could or would elaborate on in any detail. It would be struck down faster than than you could say Euwwww. to Raider snot flung on your face.>>
I'll just go on the record right now and say that "What happened in Vegas, stays in Vegas."
There should be no discussion of this particular incident on the boards.
Having said that, I just wanted to send out a personal thanks to everyone that was able to attend what ended up being a great Con, despite some shenanigans from the hotel staff and management.

I had a great time with you all.
I'm sad that I didn't get to mention something to you about quests, Solomon. I know we talked very briefly about it Friday night and I said I'd bring it up later. I had meant to Saturday night, but it slipped my mind.
Hopefully I'll be able to see you all next year. And I sincerely hope my pictures aren't too incriminating....

We're home, safe and as sound as we ever are. No mishaps coming back other than... DAMN! Is there ALWAYS a 1.5 hour security line at McCarron? We got to our flight just as they were clearing the last of the standbys; i.e., about 2 minutes from missing it.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful time. It was interesting to meet folks, and visit with people I've met at SimuCon. The whole family enjoyed themselves thoroughly, and I have to admit it was a lot more tame than I anticipated. Not sure what exactly I expected, but it was reasonably "friendly" for a young teen. Or perhaps people were just conscious when he was around -- and I appreciate that :) With any good fortune, we'll see y'all in Vegas again next year, and hopefully at SimuCon in June, too!

Wow... that was some weekend. Many many many thanks (and hugs) to everyone who was there, and made my first Vegascon something to remember. Except for the one incident, I had a fantastic time.. the hotel was not the best, I missed the jacuzzi after the first night, but it was fun anyway. Hopefully there will be no horribly incriminating pictures of me.. if anyone has any that are questionable, ask me first please? AIM is TFRaycha, I meant to give that out to all the wonderful people I met but since I didn't really get a chance to say goodbye to everyone, that didn't happen. Oh well.. despite all the drama, it was fun, I want to go back now. :)

Back...tired...enjoying not being in a desert.
Thanks one and all; I had a good time (albeit rather mellow, relatively speaking). I wish I had been able to utilize my Friday better, but I think I had enough fun Thursday night to make up for it. Well, at least judging by the way I was feeling Friday, I have to assume I had a great time Thursday. ;) It was also good to see some new faces and meet some folks that I otherwise wouldn't for whatever reasons.
Until next year,

*hugs Raycha* I've already seen pictures. =P, however, they probaly won't be posted by Micka...so I'm sure there are others.
WoOt....god am I glad to be home. No idea how I'm going to be getting up for work in the morning. I like everyone else so far, had a wonderful time. Amazingly I think I even went to a few meetings....not sure that happened. Some of the weekend is still sorta a drunken haze, but I'm sure I'll remember much better when people start posting their pictures.
Wish I was still there, at least then I'd know I couldn't be pelted with people asking me about the rumors...oh well, such is life. Besides, it's fun to see what people think happened...or at least it has been so far. Most amusing....anyway...yeah, people need to post their pictures.

I had a wonderful time.. was so good seeing folks again from last year and meeting new people. I'd say more, but we just got in.. and I'm so exhausted! ;)
Thank you to the con crew who planned and ran things, I imagine it was crazy at times - but you guys are super and very appreciated!
Hugs to you all, and thank you for being such fun people to spend a weekend with!
~ Wavie
P.S. Hehe.. I sure hope you're right Solomon (what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas) cause, whew!, have I already seen some wild pictures. ;)
(All in fun pictures of course.. I hear all the really good ones are being kept under lock and key for later bribery...)

Hey Folks!
Wow, that was fantastic! Thanks to everyone who helped make my first VegasCon so memorable. Especially Kalela, Solomon, Raycha, Mickalai, Sheeley, Razzleberry, Kkaterina, Rilyan, Jewellea, Ipkin, Falkonis, and our hot, sexy bartenders, Deon and Fox. Incidentally, there's nothing coincidental about Bubba's placement in the preceding sentence ;) Oh, and apologies for any misspellings and to anyone whom I forgot. I dropped off my disposable cameras at the pharmacy last night, so I should have the photo CDs right after work on Wednesday. I'll try to get a thumbnail gallery up that night, and a full website by the end of the weekend.
>I just wanted to send out a personal thanks to everyone that was able to attend what ended up being a great Con, despite some shenanigans from the hotel staff and management.
>Solomon
Because, certainly, Solomon did get up to anything that could possibly be called "shenanigans." (See above.)
>DAMN! Is there ALWAYS a 1.5 hour security line at McCarron?
>Teressa/Meriel
I was there at 6:45am Sunday for a 7:50am flight, and the line was at least half an hour (compared to literally no line at all at 8:45am Thursday at BWI). In fact, I can remember only one other time that I waited that long in a security line for a domestic flight (It was a routine flight out of Pittsburgh, and I never did find out why there was such a line.). I guess you just can't underestimate the number of people leaving Las Vegas on any given Sunday.
>I had a wonderful time..
>~ Wavie
Well, of course you did, love. Let's try to remember everything you won on Saturday, shall we? I think it included:
1) The opportunity to work with the GMs to design Albaria.
2) An Elvish mirror blade covered in the blood of Elotheans and in mysterious, evil, glowing runes.
3) A boat.
Did I miss anything?

Also, now that it is over, has the annual VegasCon flu/bug started going around yet or did it get left behind when we had to change rooms?

David hon, you have to still be drunk given you managed to misspell MINE and Shenney's name...not that we care. You were a riot....and still are. By the way, Shenney and I were serious about adopting you, consider yourself ours now....smooch
Hehe...now pardon me while I attempt to figure out what last night's post was about. Last time I ever...ever respond at 1:30 am...mutters even forgot to sign my own post, which is new.
<<I'm stuffy and I think I'm getting strep. :\
Oddly, that sentence scares me Solomon....damned if I know why. Especially since I've been rather stuffy and icky feeling myself.
<<Don't know about you all but since early saturday evenin i havn't had one drink of alchol... and today i go to work and i feel as though i'm drunk the people here talk so much faster then i remember. I kept holding my head between my hands saying to myself "I'm not drunk she just talks fast" over and over <grins>

I uh...actually got threatened with a drug test once my boss showed up at work. Which isn't fair, I was running on 3 hours of sleep....Maybe I should have gone to bed instead of playing DR after getting home, but dammit I can't overcome all my addictions at once. oh well...
Looking forward to next year

I missed my flight by 5 minutes; thus, had the shuttle actually shown up, I would have made it.
Ah well. I was able to get on as a standby for the next flight, so only a couple hours lost. I spent my rant in my LJ, so I'm all good now <g>.
Had a mahvelous time; thanks to all who organized, and those who travelled from near and far. It was a pleasure, as always.

Welp, made it home again myself. Had fun meeting most of you (The ones I didn't meet, I couldn't have had fun with.)
While there was still a security slowdown this morning when I left, it was more than compensated by the hour+ delay in my flight taking off. Heh.

I had a great time seeing everyone this weekend, Shawn came out really far ahead so his Girlfriend has no reason to not let him go back next year. ;)
My luck started out bad and just got worse as the weekend progressed. I'm happy for all the people that won the really cool prizes, and kudos to the imaginative and creative GM's that put them up.
Had a great weekend and I wouldn't exchange it for any amount of winnings or raffle prizes, see you all next year.

That's only because I wasn't going anywhere near the keg of watered-down urine (otherwise known as bud light), and I walked up the strip to get some decent beer. Hopefully next year they can actually buy a beer that doesn't taste like crap, and I'll help him demolish it :)

I'd guess it was about a 3 hour wait, but no one actually made it to the front of the line before they got pulled up to the front because their plane was leaving soon.
<<Also, now that it is over, has the annual VegasCon flu/bug started going around yet or did it get left behind when we had to change rooms?>>>>
Emarori is very sick today, her temperature was over 104 when she got home from teaching her lab. Since then she's basically been sleeping all day. So far I'm feeling fine, but I'm sure I'll catch it too eventually.

That's only because I wasn't going anywhere near the keg of watered-down urine (otherwise known as bud light), and I walked up the strip to get some decent beer. Hopefully next year they can actually buy a beer that doesn't taste like crap, and I'll help him demolish it :)

And we need to talk about one of those other things, too. Whee!

I count myself as lucky for having no wait checking in at the counter or going through security. At least having to be at the airport absurdly early for a 7:00 flight has it's perks.
I enjoyed myself, too. It's always good to catch up with familiar faces and to meet new ones.
Cheers!

Vegas is harsh on security lines at times. A and B gate can get uber long if you fly out those in evening at times. gate D one is almost always a short line but you have to like take that shuttle train across airport. I never flew out C gate. for last year I flew to vegas about once per 4-6 weeks so I get to fly out of there alot. I generally fly out on a sunday or monday and if I go out of A or B gate early afternoon or evening I make sure to get to airpost 2 hours early. Gate D and 30 minutes early is fine for me.

getting there 3 hours before hand and to gate 'C' took those 3 hours just about for a flight out on Sunday. was about 1 hour outside the airport standing in a line to get into the building for Southwest, then another 1.5 hours standing in security check which really makes me wonder how i made my flight.
