1139 is when the crossbow was supposedly banned. The longbow was banned later.

It was only against other Christians though. Filthy heathens were still fair game. And really people just used them anyway.

Thank you, been looking for that and couldn't find it anywhere. Considering the prolific use of the bow until gunpowder became sorta useful, it makes sense why the ban faded into obscurity.
