Ranger. Circle 19. ME and Longbow primary. Usually keep 3-4 skills above bewildering in combat, and 1-4 when non-combat training.

Strength : 17 Reflex : 16
Agility : 16 Charisma : 14
Discipline : 15 Wisdom : 17
Intelligence : 16 Stamina : 17

Was hoping to maybe get some opinions on some stats to focus on, etc. Thanks in advance!

First thing I notice is discipline. It's a very important stat to all guilds: helps with performing certain tasks, helps greatly with magic, and helps quite a bit with learning, too. It will enlarge your experience pool, not as much as intelligence, but because it has more benefits than intell, it's a better buy with the tdps, imho. Raise it as much as you can considering your race.

Also, raise stamina a point or two. It will help you hunt longer and more safely. I've never had trouble locking up several weapons while hunting...I like training at least 3 at a time before I just am too mind locked in too many skills to keep hunting...wounds and fatigue won't stop me, though.

Agility also helps with accuracy in a bunch of skills and helps with the practicing of skills such as foraging, juggling, and so on, including the accuracy of your weapons which equals better hits which equals more experience per attack.

I like to train my characters not only to their guild, but also to their race and, most of all, my playing style/personal preferences. Because I like evasion a lot, I train up reflex -- how much depends on race -- even on my guilds with evasion tert or secondary. If you're a race that can train charisma easily, it's good to train now and then for most guilds because most have a skill or ability that can benefit from it... for rangers, isn't it the companions and horses? Maybe a spell or two? Seeing as your charisma is lowest, if you can afford the tdps to raise it once or twice, after raising the other things.

Still, the best plan is to look at what your playing style is, look at the descriptions for each stat (by inputting "wisdom" or "reflex" etc), seeing what you can afford with your TPDs to get the most bang for your buck, and choose accordingly.

I was playing around a bit and my current favorite technique involved pushing Stamina and Wisdom as as hard and as fast to 25 as I can. I like this method because all that stamina means never waiting to swing a weapon, not even a mace. All that wisdom really keeps the mind states in check in combat. Be prepared to not lock non-combat survival skills though. You just can't cram enough bits fast enough with foraging and scouting post wall. Or if you try its just not efficient.

If you like having minimum round times on my primary weapons, and want to do it efficiently, check out http://dr.six-something.org/rt_calc.php

I catch a lot of flack for this but train charisma to 17 (the minimum you need for a wolf) then save your TDPs for a useful stat. (This assumes you're not going to go around relying on our Sv.X spells to fight.)

I like discipline over intel as well. Its effects on hiding and skinning are measurable. Honestly as far as I've noticed skill pool size is first and foremost determined by skill set (no matter how much intel you have a tert skill has a tiny pool), then actual rank (this effect gets even bigger as the skills increase), and finally intelligence. I'm sure that at some point I'll go back and raise my intel a bit but right now given the choice I'll train discipline and work to rank the skill to increase pool size.

Depending on how safe you play it you can get by with minimal amounts of reflex, but this stat is very useful particularly if you pop boxes. If you do want to neglect it a bit (not that I'm suggesting that) make sure you get SOTT spell and work your magics to handle it. Actually that last part is just plain good advice period, SOTT is arguably our best combat spell.

Well I think that covers all of them. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion you've got to figure out for yourself what will work and what won't. Also you have to think about what your long term goals are and balance those with short term needs, not easy sometimes.

Effects stealth a good bit too. Good stat for thief/ranger.
