Hi,
I want to train all three defenses (evasion, parry, and shield), but I was told that I shouldn't try to train all 3 at the same time (ie 60% in each). Instead, I should train two at a time - shield & evasion, then switch to parry & evasion when shield is locked, etc.
I was wondering if that was true, and if it is, then why?
Thanks.

Keep in mind that my opinions are purely based on TF training styles.
Shield should always be @ 100 and the remaining points in ur secondary defense. Then swap secondary defenses. The reason I say always keep 100 in shield is that it will lag behind as the others (evasion/parry) will come naturally from training weapons/defenses.
Never let them fall too far behind as you will regret it.
Shield Usage: 357 55.72% clear <--- see what I mean
Parry Ability: 380 73.37% clear
Evasion: 378 87.87% clear

This is my setup for stances.
ATTACK={ 100% parry, 87% evasion, 0% shield, 100% attack}
PARRY={ 100% parry, 100% evasion, 0% shield, 0% attack}
SHIELD={ 100% shield, 100% evasion, 0% parry, 0% attack}
CUSTOM={ 100% shield, 87% evasion, 0% parry, 100% attack}
I then cycle through the stances depending on what I'm doing. I manage to train all major defenses just like Denz.

Yeah I was just going from memory. When I do 0 attack I always get 100/100/30 in my defenses. I was mistaken.

Thanks for the responses, although I'm not completely certain I understand. Is there a certain sequence in which one's defenses are "checked" against the attack to see if you successfully defend? If so, what is that sequence? It appears to be 1. evasion, 2. parry, 3. shield. Is there a way to change that sequence?
And is the above sequencing the reason why using multiple defenses can cause problems? For instance, if I were to have points in all three, but the attacks never got past my parry, would I never learn any shield?
Thanks.
