Devestating slice without rare metals. on 02/26/2008 05:10 PM CST

Just curious. Can any two handed blade reach devestating slice without using rare metals? I'd heard not but wanted to know if anyone had found some way. Thanks.

Not speaking from personal experience but I've heard you can get devastating greatswords, but I do believe they have to be really heavy, like over 100 stones.

I have made a 260 stone greatsword and a 156 stone claymore. Neither of these ground to dev slice. Now I can go heavier but I would say NO, not possible without special metals. With special metals, you can get devestating slice at min weight of a greatsword (60 stones).

Ahh thanks for the clarification. I won't be keeping my eyes peeled for dev slice greatswords then. Heh.

I am hanging out riverhaven way just now.. how big is big? I have mixes for a 156 claymore/260 greatsword. I can go heavier if you wish. Niether come out as devestating slice at that weight.

Only devastating anything I've ever seen with normal metals is the 109 dev impact war mattock. Can the current templates hold a dev slice with normal metals?
