As many of you know, I have been working on my Ph.D. in chemical engineering for the past several years. I am very proud to say that today I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation and am now "Dr.".

I wanted to share this news with the bardic community because so many people have been supportive over the years. I started playing DR when I was a sophomore in high school, and it's been a long journey to this point. But many people, and specifically I would like to thank Useff, Kaedan, Mykira, Shenney, Aveda, Kleis, Rezzian, Teamarie, Brealin, and Mausumi, have been extremely supportive over the years.

Thank you everyone for support and friendship. I appreciate it more than I can say.

Dr. Michelle "aka Micka"

A big congrats to you! Being half a year from being a doctor myself, I know how much work goes into it. Supposedly, the hard part is over for you now... so enjoy your free time!

PhD's are nothing to sneeze at, especially in chemical engineering. Way to go!

What was the title of your thesis if you don't mind?

Woo*-*Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, who's up for a celebratory party? I can trot back from Ratha and grab one from Trevallyn's, or see about some other venue.

Thanks everyone! It's been an exciting time.

My dissertation was entitled "Novel Sustainable Solvents for Bioprocessing Applications." It's a rather general title because my research consisted of several disparate projects, each dealing with the development or use of nontraditional solvents.

And hey, parties are always a plus....

It's better than one person in my lab group who was given the tentative title their first year, "Stuff and Things to do with Chemistry."

It certainly is good to know I do not have the most vague title ever. But think of the opportunities and flexibility with such a title!
