Not sure if this is a bug or not... but Lilt is teaching me Utility rather than Augmentation. Not a huge deal since its an off mana spell that I wont always have but still seems a bit off.

Augmentation: 441 36% clear (0/34) Debilitation: 401 79% clear (0/34)
Utility: 525 85% mind lock (34/34) Warding: 467 77% clear (0/34)
Ive been playin the song for about an hour now.
BTW Raesh is there any way to have Bard enchants show up in perceive area or just the normal perceive? It would be nice to know what Bardic spells were being played in an area and which are affecting me.

>>Lilt teaching
It should be Aug. Play around a little more and let me know? If it's just a Plat vs Prime thing of if there's some rhyme or reason to it (Or other spells doing the same thing).

Hrnng. Not sure how the new core system handles that, and it may be largely on a case by case basis. It's something I'll look into cleaning up once we have some of the larger issues resolved.

Suddenly just about 5 min ago it started teaching Augmentation so everything is peachy now. Im not sure if it was clashing with another mage doing a bard cyclic or not but it seems fine now.

No worries. Just thought Id bring it up since youll probably start seeing more Bard magic getting used now. And I know I was standing in an area with a bard singing and I couldnt tell what song he was doing except for the occasional sing message that stated it.

Putting this back in the right thread...
>>So far as I know it is intended that cyclic spells do not have a prep time.
>So it looks like this means we can prep them and then immediately cast them. In that case, what's the point of making us prep them in the first place? If it's not too difficult, how about letting us start them with only a single command? Either "prep" or "cast", whichever is simpler.
I was thinking the same thing when I found this out today. I think it's a result of the mechanic being a little raw due to changing late on in development.
I'm speaking with Socharis about the best way to do it. It's not as simple as it sounds (If you just make Prep call Cast instantly for example you run into problems with spells like Moongate that need additional information in the cast command to parse.)
>Then you might want to have a look at Nexus. It's still acting like it has a prep time.
Whoops, missed that one.
>For Bards or for everyone? Because Bard spells are the only ones I'm seeing that don't have a prep time.
For all cyclics, however it's possible many (all...) are flagged wrong. I updated all of the Moon Mage and Bard ones today.

Hah, go figure! I feel like I have to cast HODI at a lower power now, though. I was casting at 12-14 fine before but now need to cast at 10 to avoid most backfires.
The teeth lands a solid (5/23) hit that pokes the teeth into Turul's rear end (more embarrassing than painful!).
