When another bard got VT4, she was less skilled rank wise then me and had only 2 more charisma(35). So, i spank me up a quick circle, bring my charisma up to 35. and go ask Malik. He is still shooting me down. Shes a pyrdean and im a boring old huuuuman.

I had more vocals for sure, she was still under 300 and i recently had broke that barrier. Im not sure about discpline. I did have more survival than her, and that was a issue getting VT in the past also.

Pretty sure he isn't, but no real way to know for sure.

Looked at the numbers I've been using (thanks to Useff) and the average Charisma reported was higher than 35. Individually there were numbers reported lower but I believe that is due to fact that Malik is a racist.

So Rob, I would suggest bumping up Charisma one more and trying again. I've found that I've also needed to be at or above the average for him to send me on the wild goose chase.

With all the new applications being given to stats, it's more important than ever for us to be informed about how stats affect our characters so that we may make informed decisions about how we spend TDPs.

I hope that when these quests are rewritten and beaten with the creativity stick, we can be better informed about how we gain these abilities.

Some randomness is part of Malik's decision making process, as well as other factors (not sure about planets in retrograde, but entirely possible - he's evil enough to have some moonie influence in there). If he didn't give it to you, and you know you have the basic reqs, you might give it a little time and try again after Katamba sets or Yavash rises or the wind shifts or the such like.
