I hear a gweth that Dirge is being attacked. I ask why Dirge was attacked. I love how people assume you want a complete synopsis of the past few months when you ask what happened five seconds ago.
>>Kithria whispers, "hon, you've so far out of the loop it would take days to fill you in and it's a bardic event where in we lose our current magic system and get a new one back"
You're an idiot.

Pureblade, you can flame me all you want...at least I gave you a partial answer, which was all the time I had to give. I didn't see any other bards hanging around to try to inform you. I realize you've been gone and can't read a thousand posts, but surely you've time to read the last dozen or so on the bards events boards...it can explain more than I had time to explain in the few minutes I was able to be in the barroom with you.
It is idiocy to expect to come charging in and be given a month's worth of intensive backstory in a few words or sentences. Sorry you were insulted and felt of little worth or value to the event under the circumstances.
You can pick me out of all the bards to vent on if you wish. I won't respond further to you, on these boards. If I see you IG and you've managed to catch up, then I can help/inform you as to the daily occurrence if I'm able. I often don't know myself as things are suddenly unfolding very rapidly. If you read these boards, you will see that many of us bards are in the dark ourselves about what is truly going on, who is friend and who is foe, as it seems our own guildleaders may be turning on us.
As for your being out of game for a while, your presence was missed, it happens to all of us that real life takes precedence.

I did do that.
Here's the chain of events.
1) Cloudcrest gweths that Dirge is being attacked
2) I arrive, I ask "What happen?"
3) Noone talks, which I figure means you're all whispering, or something.
4) You whisper that you don't have the time to explain the last few months, and leave before I can even reply
Now, it would logically be that if someone asks, right after something happened, "What happened?", the person would explain what happened *just then*.
::car accident happens::
police officer: "What happen?"
car owner: "Well, in 1994 I bought this Mazda..."
I never expected a months worth of backstory. I wanted to know what happened just then, after people were gwething for help. It would have been better if you just assumed I did the logical thing, which was be up to date. I came expecting roleplay and got told to do homework. That's rather disheartening, especially after all these posts saying "We need help, join in, come do this with us".

sidenote: The issue isn't really that Pureblade was blown off. It was the OOC manner in which it was done. It's perfectly understandable, given the situation at hand, for someone not to instantly trust someone who is coming to help. It's also perfectly understandable to be hesitant in explaining what is going on. What was annoying was the fact that there was no roleplay that happened. It was just a whisper of "OOC you don't know this stuff go away" and poof.
Did anyone else even deign to say that much? No.
Was it said aloud, OOC? No. I should have bracketed it, so that you would know it was an uncharacteristic reply.
FYI, thugs, footpads, cutthroats, ruffians, faenrae stalkers and faenrae assassins are now attacking bards frequently. There. You're caught up.

Ahem.. probably not for the last time I'll interject what actually happened.
The GMPCs involved in the Sorrow event blew up the sentinels. NO player had anything to do with it.
Now back to your usual bickering.

pureblade was caught up. that's not the issue. the issue is in people assuming that people who don't instantly act as though they know everything know nothing of what's going on and therefore are unqualified to be informed on the immediate past or to help with what's going on. to be perfectly honest, a character not knowing what's going on does not require that their player be equally ignorant of the events relating to what's currently happening.

Holy... whatever.
I just had the same thing happen to me yesterday by a war mage up in Riverhaven. It's cool though. I didn't even know about this situation until yesterday and was asked to help in Dirge. Then after much slaughter of not-so-innocent of the thugs, cutthroats, etc. We go to speak to the cloaked figure and he tells us to wander up north to Riverhaven. Then inside the Bard Guild in Riverhaven, Tashya (spelling?) mentions to check the event folder. Gonna do that in a second. =)
The best part of the night was when I roshamboed everyone outside the Bard Guild and practically beat everyone. I had some pretty good lines there. Thanks to the GM who did the Toggler passerby guy twice when I lost to Ketrianna. Awesome work =D
