I want to thank a lot of you for the defeatist attitude expressed for the new requirements.

It makes me think sometimes, just maybe, that the Dragon Priests had a good reason for wiping us out.

Well, I'm sure the GMs tried all the different scenarios before settling on the Dragon Priests wiping out the bards. I'm sure it's for the best.

...who probably shouldn't be in here, because he'll get caught up in the conflict, and it's not even his guild (gasp), though he does have a vested interest in it, because he is once-and-future bard (as soon as he gets some cash flow) and because his brother plays a bard, though his brother is on a trip, so he can't check how far backward or forward said brother will be set by the new reqs...

I am not sure I see a lot of defeatist attitudes, I know I don't have that. However, if there is something that I don't like or that concerns me, I will also express my opinion - is there a problem with that?

I have no beef with the GMs, or anyone. I have concerns about the new requirements, and not from a personal standpoint either, since in the long run these are probably easier for me. I think I should be able to express those concerns, constructively. When I have suggestions, I will be posting on these new requirements, giving my opinions and my ideas.

If that's defeatist, ::shrugs::

Generalist statement not directed at anyone.

I don't have a problem with expressing opinions or concerns, but the WOE IS I, I SHALL NEVER CIRCLE, WOE WOE. and NO ONE ELSE HAD TO LIKE BACKTRAIN is defeatist to me.

I'm sorry if you feel I was speaking to you directly. Next time shall I name names?

The dragonpriests are an out of game entity? Seriously, we're players here discussing the requirements.

Heh. No biggy. I've just grown a bit bitter when people call bards whiners when it comes to any form of discussion about their development, even if that discussion 'happens' to be negative. Nobody should expect just bright cheery answers, or to just suck it up as it is. Discussion stimulates the possibility for change with all the feedback.

Oh indeed. I'm all for constructive ideas. But I've seen a fair amount of whining and I am getting really disgusted with it :)
