Going through the Paladin folder, I noticed that Raesh posted a comment about Bards and Bardic lore as needing serious revision. "Bards need some serious revision to the initial plans for Bardic Lore". Have any of these ideas been posted or tossed around? I didn't know the skill was being reviewed before it was even pushed out fully yet.

Nothing has been announced because nothing has been decided.
The initial draft of New Bardic Abilities was written in a world before 3.0 was released by a very new GM. Changes to the game, how 3.0 has played out and experience as a game designer have invalided or at least reopened discussion on some of those decisions.
Am I happy with where Bardic Lore is right now? Not at all. It's absolutely a patch work system to make the skill trainable. Would I expect it to be developed in the way initially described? No. 3.0 has changed what the guild does and doesn't need, the initial concept was overly broad and never as unified as I would have liked (Even then) and it overreached in a couple of places.
Right now it's sitting on the backburner of my mind (Hanging out with the Endurance skill) while we focus on the last few steps of getting Magic where we want it and Trader magic written.

I'd like to see Bardic Lore/Performance get developed in the same model as Expertise/Tactics.
Have performance be a skill that everyone can train and use that has specific benefits, and have Bardic Lore power an enhancement or off-shoot to that system that gives additional or different benefits only to bards.
