What is generally felt to be a more effective means of supporting my own spell casting - BotF, or Nexus?

Why not use both? IIRC, only BotF of those two is cyclic so you can maintain both effects at the same time.

That said, if only using it for your own benefit then bear in mind that BotF's attunement regen effect is partially (and not insignificantly) offset by cost of maintaining the cyclic itself. Because of that, it is less than efficient as a solo cyclic and you would generally be better off using a cyclic with a more direct effect unless you are seriously hurting for attunement. It does shine in a group situation like a group hunt or triage for example because the effect is multiplied at no extra cost to you.

Nexus, like any standard spell, is pretty easy to maintain in whatever area you're in. It doesn't have as strong an effect as BotF because it results in less attunement savings over time and only affects elemental mana users, but it doesn't suffer as much as BotF from a cost offset.

It's been a while since I've played my Bard, so things may have changed somewhat but I don't recall seeing anything announced. Take that as you will.

... /headdesk, sorry, that was completely my reading comprehension failure. You are totally right, only BotF is a cyclic. Sorry.

I've noticed that if I use my TM routine where I hunt with DALU up at 9 mana, I quickly tap out of attunement. If I have BotF up at 10 mana, I do not tap out. This is with solo hunting. Now, I put up BotF before running through my buff routine, casting HARM@30, NAME@30, RAGE@20, and DRUM@20, and come out with about half attunement compared to being unable to get through the routine if I had DALU up at 8-9. So I definitely feel like BotF is doing something...

But I totally didn't realize that Nexus wasn't a cyclic, so, again, my bad on that. How does Nexus compare to a Warmies Fissure?

That only shows that BOTF is less bad than DALU, which isn't surprising. Try doing your buff routine without any cyclic up at all, and compare that to doing it with BOTF.

Nexus - moderate bonus all of the time (about 2 mana levels at cap iirc)
Fissure - high bonus that requires maintenance or it decays over time to a weak bonus.

They stack, iirc too.

Also, the Nexus boost will get bigger if you can get a bunch of PCs to hang out in the room. I've never tested how much of a difference it makes, though. You need at least 3 people before it gets any bigger.
