::confidently:: As many of you may know, Bards tend to have more success with ladies then most.

::confidently:: Some say we sweet talk, other say we have charm, and still others say we just tend to have all of our teeth. Hey, some women just aren't that picky.

::confidently:: But regardless of the norm, we all have our off nights. And for me, no was stranger that the one and only night I spent in Tharen.

May I present an original work. "My Night in Tharen."

I've wandered 'cross this great big world.
Slept in castles, inns, barns, and grass.
Along the way, I've met my share of ladies.
Spend many these nights curled up with a lass.

Here's my story strange, of my first night in Tharen.
Now perchance I wandered through that land of snow.
Frozen, hungry, I breached the massive gates.
The first inn I did see, was my place to go.

I entered into the common room's warmth.
Shook snow from my cloak, and round I gazed.
Fire in the hearth beckonded me close,
I sought the heat through the smoky haze.

A room I procured, and my burden discarded,
I sought warmth, laughter, and fine wine.
With but the passage of a few of my coin,
The innkeep he did lay a dinner so fine.

After helping two of such great a stew,
And twice again that of wine, I began
To feel that a pretty lass for the night
Would not be amiss. So love I sought again.

I peeked around, surveying the scene.
To my delight, a lass of every race
Did I spy. I approached an elven maiden
Whom I hoped would match my grace.

I wispered sweet words and compliments aplenty,
but all she returned was a soft, amused smile.
Although elves are best, A Kaldar lass would best
what beauty she lacked in stamina by a mile.

Though I turned on the charm and offered her drink,
She mearly shook her head when I suggested my bed.
I moved onto a human, who's smile was sweet,
If I couldn't sway her, I'd swear I was dead.

A few friendly words and some strong mead,
And she walked away as if I were a bore.
But alas, a Prydaen I did spy at a table alone.
For a cuddle with her, hair and claws I'd ignore

I stroked her fur, scratched her ears, and made her purr.
And all at once, she up and left to my shock.
So to a Elothean I turned. Proud and stunning,
She would be a perfect companion I'd not mock.

More wine flowed, and to battles we toasted,
But she fled my table 'fore I'd made a pass.
To a halfling I sauntered, my spirit undaunted.
Hoping she'd appreciate my tastes in a tiny lass.

She spoke of home, family, and her life,
But err I'd had one cup, she danced away.
I approached a Rakash, feeling dismayed,
But at least the moon was a slit that day.

Rounds we drak, but whenever I suggested my room,
She'd chuckle at me and make another toast.
So I turned my head the least scaly S'Kra Mur lass,
Realizing of this night, I would never boast.

She'd take my praise, take my drink, and take my time,
But as with most of her kind, she would not take my race.
With a grimace, I turned to a loud Dwarven lass
Who, thank the gods, had almost no hair on her face.

Ale after ale she drank with me, 'til her shined,
But she too fled when I carelessly flaunted my lust.
I turned to a Gor'tog lass, head spinning and dejected.
She'd me mine tonight, I swore to myself or I'd bust.

She laughed as I staggered up to her, accepting but on drink.
My tongue heavy, my clouded head, I didn't protest when she fled.
I motioned towardes a Gnomish maiden cross the room,
For I couldn't pass the space, as I felt nearly dead.

She smiled at me across the room, crossed the space
She took my hand and to my room she guided me.
Inside my room, I found myself, door shut and alone,
That final lass had laid me down and left with glee.

I woke the morning next, head splitting and tasting wine.
Though the past night was hazy, by my plight was crystal clear.
I'd had no women grace my bed, though not for effort lacking.
Sadly I gathered up my stuff and packed my gear.

I trudged down the stairs and through the common room.
I paid my bill and offered a prayer that no one was within.
As I passed outside that inn, I saw to my surprize,
The sign above the door read simply "The Pure Palidin."

To this day, I have not passed another night within those walls.
