Ok, well get this. I just got smacked royally and now half of me is paralyzed--the only thing that isn't paralyzed is my head, pretty much. So...

At a high enough skill level, could you give Bards an ability to clean instruments with only the use of their teeth? It would have a very high RT, but I'm sure a skilled enough Bard could clean an instrument with both arms tied behind his/her back!

How about a demonstration? Assuming you meant a physical method (ie, scraping the grime away or even sucking the stale, leftover spit out), I'm not sure that any race's tongue is long enough nor the teeth positioned correctly enough to get to all the places that would need cleaning.

A spell for cleaning would rock and if sung instead of played you wouldn't have to worry about using an instrument and being unable to.

Singing this enchante literally causes dirt, grime, and spit to magically lift off/leak out of your precious musical instrument, restoring it to a level of cleanliness it probably hasn't seen since it was made.

I might be mis-interpreting the proposed enchante, but is carrying around a cloth and getting 4-7 seconds RT when you clean an instrument before use really all that bad?

The point of my suggestion was, with great enough skill, a Bard should be able to clean an instrument without the use of his/her hands. That is all I am suggesting.

I would also like to see this. Granted, I'd absolutely love an instrument that floated magically in front of me and required no hands to 'play,' but it's not something with precedence I believe. However, I think it's... well, pointless, to be honest. Rather Dart spend time working on screams or new bluffs or another enchante then coding a skill check that would allow us to clean instruments with our various appendages, both obscene and otherwise.

Ohh by all means, I want screams as much as the next person. I hope you weren't thinking I wanted Dart to drop everything to work on this--that's far from the case. Just a friendly suggestion for future development.
