anyway, hes been counting his raises and it made me think that it'd be cool to have an item thats able to keep a running tally of something.

The look could change as you apply more notches

shredded belt

mark my belt (with knife in hand)

You apply a new mark to your brown leather belt.

look/count/app/study(whatever is easier to code) my belt.

You count 28 notches in your brown leather belt.

Or at least a general idea of how many you have completed.

My cleric keeps track roughly via the number of favors she has...haven't gotten any the old fashion way since the rezz quest.

The titles for Resurrection are based on very small numbers, I believe.

I'm also not sure I want a belt with 1200 notches in it.

You're probably right I have all of them with Strangeguard and I think i've only done around 100 or maybe a bit more, favors are probably a better way to track them.
