With a very recent change of the family, my schedule is goin to change a bit. Don't be surprised if you don't see me around as often, will still be around what i can. As of today I become a daddy again, 8 lbs 4 oz baby girl and she is healthy and absolutely beautiful <yes she takes after the wife>.

For when your kid can stand while holding on to something (or at least sit):
1) Purchase a Graco Pack 'n Play.
2) Purchase mass quanitites of Baby Einstein DVD's (it really does mesmerize them).
3) Flip to the Disney Channel.
As much as I'm sure they've taken on a Barney-esque reputation, the Wiggles really are an excellent show for young kids while the music is still tolerable by the parents. "Bear in the Big Blue House" has some very well-written music and my favote cartoon is still 'Stanley'. :)
Oy, this is what happens after 19 months of being a dad.

Going off on Wynders tangent- it is really amazing what good childrens programing is out there, once you get past the dreck. Personally- I still like Little Bill, Stanly, Rolly Poly Ollie, of course Sesame Street. My little darlin' is just past most of those, and the quality is starting to drop but some very good stuff.
And for those who feel that todlers should never ever be exposed to TV, I say all things in moderation. In our kids group we had both the extremes and frankly the kids who never saw television were no better off socially or learning wise than the rest of them. Moderation- as my wife says- if watching Little Bill lets me take a shower its a good thing.
Speaking of which, nothing like posting while drinking some nice wine....

The great thing about parenting is you can screw up yer kids for life, and they dont even know it. I'm teaching my son how to "dance"....but my dancing is like flailing my arms around and moving my knees back and forth. So how you think little verbal dances? OH YEAH! I will not be winning any parent of the year awards anytime soon. My kid is going to hate me when he grows up. Its beautiful.
