With some clerics... or anyone in general, the worst question you can ask them is, "How many ranks of weapon do you have?" Especially from someone you don't know or trust -- maybe it's because they don't want to show any weakness or present themselves as a target; However, in the interest of journalism (or maybe it's a desperate cry for help), I've made an addition to Crossroads of Elanthia called "The Oldbie Chronicles."

In this column, Faethe bears all and you'll bear witness to the sucesses, failures, errors in judgement and gleaming accomplishments this curmudgeony dwarf of Kertigen lives through, in addition to being privy to my general stats and skills. Now, I know many of you are saying to yourself, "Self, why would I even read this when I /live/ this?" Well, Self -- the answer is simply appealing... You get to do what DR players do best: criticize. :)

If I've made gross errors in judgement in training (or not training something) I want to hear it... uncensored, unmoderated. Conversely, if you're more of the constructive type, by all means make suggestions on how I might proceed in the guild and those comments might be taken to heart.

I know how conflict sparks interest, so the first edition is entitled, "Dressing Down" and is a gripping tale of how fellow Cleric and kin Lagerby verbally beats down this little dwarf because of her lack of training. Near caused a tear ta fall from mah eye when ah wrote it. :) In any case, feel free to pop on over (http://dr.warcry.com/) -- you can find a link on the left hand menu. You'll see it taged with (New!) in pretty Swamp Troll Blood Red. :)

Not to worry Faethe, everyone who complains within earshot of me about being behind in a skill we only have 1 rank per circle as a req gets an earful. I am glad to see you sucked it up and rose to the challenge.

Hammer high.

Faethe, while I don't have the email on me, I at circle 40 copied my exp and emailed it to myself six years ago. From what I remember of that email (having looked at it a few months ago) your skills are all pretty close to what I had except for survival. But Tish was/is and always will be a survival freak. That being said, your survival skills look to me to be pretty on par with everyone else your level, so don't sweat it. They are easy to work and can move pretty fast depending on what you work. A kudo to you on your target though, Tish had 122 in target at circle 40 and you have in the 160's I believe it was - Totally Awesome!

As for your stats, I would raise reflex and stamina. Seeing as we need so much weapon, it's best to stay alive as long as you can to learn them. For now I think your agility is good. Reflex you need to evade.

Those are my thoughts and don't let anyone brow beat you, you play and learn at your pace. Sheesh I'm standing in crocs which teach me absolutely nothing so I can learn weapons I'll never use, but I'm bored.

::Brow beats Tishra::

That felt good....

<<As for your stats, I would raise reflex and stamina.>>

Reflex at 40th? As a dwarf I would rather use Benediction for Reflex when I need it. I am not saying neglect it, but I am sure you feel lacking in many stats, since we have the reflex booster, work skills you don't have boosters for for now.

<<you play and learn at your pace......but I'm bored.>>

No!!! The time to train hard is when the fire is in your belly and you want to go further, faster, higher. Go! Go! Gimme that - Get outta my way - you're doing it all wrong!

You have time to play and learn at your own pace when yer bored. :-)

Yeah okay, Tish is right too, but not very inspiring. <hides from tish>

It's close to 150 -- thanks! I spent a long while in Dark Fiends trying to tweak that out because there's a bit of a gap there for me. Now that I can kinda stay on my feet with Lesser Hounds, it's gonna shoot up a bit, I think.

It was all in good RP fun, honestly -- though if it weren't for that, I'd still be neglecting my swimming. I do want to get that up to progress as a 'Swamp Shaman', so we'll see where things lead. :)

I can get a 6 minute mild benedication off at 26 mana with 264 in PM. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong there, but I don't know if I'm getting the reflex bonus yet.

I did, however, circle up to 43rd today -- I increased Agility up to 26 (in line with my Strength) and Reflex up to 24. I have this idea of keep those three stats pretty well closely matched. Once they all hit 26, I'll probably work on getting stamina to 30.

If anyone thinks this is a BadThing(tm), feel free to properly edumacate me. :)

At least about 60 ranks to get to the slab, I hear... Much more than that for the resurrection quest, unless ya get a ranger in tow. :)

Even less if you have the stats for it. I could make it to the slab with around 28 STR, 30 STA and 45 in swimming.

I can get a 6 min strong bonus with an 18 cast of benediction with 30 strength.I believe you need to work up your stats some to see the greater bonus.

Yeah- I could make to the slab with 40's in swimming- but burden could be problem- especially when slinging slaughs came in the room. Haven't been in there for the latest incarnation.

I really detest swimming in DR. Both as a player and IC.

Bah. Swimming is your friend.

Then again, being able to swim the Faldesu at 40th is a nice bonus. Soon enough I'll be able to do it with full gear without needing a strong strength boost Benediction.

Actually not too much more than 60, I was able to tow you with just 13 more lessons, and no armor(had to stow it in the vault), no burden, no wounds.. Course you might need to add 10-15 more lessons for each one of those negatives.

Oh, and now that I'm home and actually taken a look, good read. Definately work on those survivals, but it sounds like you've figured out what you want to work on and toward, and achievable goals are very handy things to have.

I got my third weapon up to 75 while capping the fiends out before I moved to meys. I still use 'em when backtraining anything but ranged.
