>>Since it does damage to undead and all damage-causing spells are supposed to contest TM now, I'm guessing that at least the undead part uses TM. It wouldn't surprise me if the contest is the same or at least similar to Shockwave's.

I'm pretty sure that not all spells are converted yet. Doesn't mean that Halo isn't just that it might not be

Halo definitely doesn't teach TM (same experience as Flavius mentioned) but the text does say it uses it, and I do feel like it's more powerful with more TM skill <shrug>

I've missed quite a bit in the last few days.

I've come into using BF very often in the last few months. I began using it with a vigil link as a poor man's improvised soul attrition. I link with vigil, then I eat 90% of my spirit in one cast and convert it to anything else, and then slowly consume their soul, before redoing the process (they never go below like 70% though. bummer) I like BF's messaging more, because of the clutching the abdomen and screaming. Far more dramatic.

I've also found it useful for converting mana in one of the rare occasions that I don't have POM up. Used in conjunction with vigil on yourself (and other people).

Also, when faced with a raise power from a malicious empath, you can get off a minimum cast (8 mana) of BF with relatively little prep time despite extremely low fatigue, once you recover a little.

Also, I adore AO for keeping spells in the background that are otherwise painstaking. In PvP scenarios, casting a max prep CV from a rune and storing it in AO, along with any buff spells you may wish to invoke later, is absolutely amazing, but yes, niche. You can basically buff up twice but pushpop it and save it for later. Easily one of our most underestimated spells.

Horn is hands down our most accurate TM spell, and it does devastating damage. I don't use it when training because I get my casts of FF off faster for cheaper.

I swear by COE, even in the orb, but I sometimes regret sacrificing being immune to IP for being able to block dragon's breath with it instead. It's like robbing from Peter to pay Paul.

Halo at 35-40 mana in the orb. Used in conjunction with phelim's sanction, clerics can be extremely worthy adversaries melee.

I like kertigen's will in theory for the hiding/stealth debuff, but I've always felt that curses are underpowered and hope to have an area cast curse of some sort.

My largest aspirations for the guild are spirit summoning (Xelten intrigued me when he said soulmancy many posts ago), and of course spirit combat.

Thanks for your feedback Tyrun.

Is the only reason you like BF over EF the messaging? Doesn't BF have an actual stun?

I must have missed something- are you sacrificing Centering for COE?

COE and/or DB had to have the TM checks hooked into place or what have you. Before then, COE had us literally immune to IP and branch break. They just couldn't hit, no matter how much magic, how much mana, how unbalanced you were.

Centering in combination with benediction gives the same affect if they don't grossly outclass you, at least, but it's not quite the fearless end result.

Yes, BF gives the stun.
