How in the world was that an IC response?

Some people think cucumbers taste better pickled!

But seriously, I think there is a problem with keeping order in the cleric guild. As to the issue of whether a cleric has a right to be upset when their newly-raised corpse is killed, I think so. I don't think it in any way should become a policy issue, because that's rather ridiculous and inapropriate, but it takes time and effort to raise someone, and killing them just throws away that work. I think of it like if a moon mage made me a cj and I just threw it away. It's not criminal, but it certainly isn't polite. Additionally, I think the monk mechanics should be clearly posted around the guild hall so everyone knows how it works. Transparency with regard to everyone's options will only help. Also, if you are a cleric and you don't like watching your corpses get killed, pause before you raise people and get some sort of reassurance that things won't get out of hand right after you raise. The corpse isn't going anywhere. At least in my experience I have found that talking with people prior to the raise can go a long way to getting issues to cool off a little. And at the worst, you can at least assist or report or something and ask a GM to keep an eyeball on the situation once you raise. It never hurts to give some authority a little forewarning of a situation.

That's just my opinion, and I try not to raise much in crossings because I think it's actually a bit of a hassle,

I was having a nice chat with a paladen in the guild one day. Jerk cleric comes in and starts a coflict with the

paladen. Paladen offers to remove the jerks breathing ability. Jerk and his buddy go out and have the monk remove the

paladen. Me, being a bit ticked, backhands the jerk who threathens to report me for harressment.

Now, you want to set it up so he could do that by himself without leaving the room.

And me still with no solution that doesn't result in a warning/lockout.

Think long and hard before asking for an ability that will almost certainly be used against you.

I don't believe we can evict our fellow guildmates, but the point is taken. It is very abusable if a single person can boot people.

ok, the beginning of this thread was all about a dead fella getting killed right after a raise right?

one of the things i genreally do as a conversation starter since the dead can talk, is while i'm casting magic, or waiting for the empath to heal them, converse with the corpse the way in which they had died. wouldnt this solve the problem? i mean, then, when homey tells you 'john ranger killed me!' you say, oh my stars and garters! and you are then less surprised when john ranger drops in and pokes the fella again.

so i took my this idea into the clerics guild last night. talked with corpses, spend most of my gametime there chilling out, teaching n raising. had a decent time. had more of a problem with the actions of the clerics, than random idiot running in and being an idiot.

anyways.

Everyone should use that expression.

Personally I'm against killing being banned in the building. Why? Because people tend to HIDE there and use it as protection to avoid whatever conflict they've gotten themselves into. Other Clerics tend to like to talk smack and hide behind the guild.

If someone comes into the guild, and kills whoever you just raised, they most likely had a reason to do so. You don't have to raise them again, and you didn't have to raise them to start with.

Does it suck to have the person you just raised killed again? I'm sure it does, but most of those who sit in the guild regularly are just rezz monkies, so shouldn't they be happy with another raise counting toward that next favor?

Also Esuin and Tallis really don't care if the killer had a good reason or not. They do not approve of such behavior in their halls. Outside of the guild they don't care.

You can use invisibility and stalk someone in and remain in hiding, though.

That aside, I don't think that's what they meant by 'hiding in the guild.'
