do ya realize the concentration thingy drops my concentration to 2 when I try and heal 6 wounds at once?
thanks maybe we could look into it

What kind of stats do you have, what's your Empathy, what's your concentration?
I haven't noticed this problem at all and I have not changed my healing routine a bit. If your character is relatively unskilled, these results are not really surprising.

I have noticed a drastic change in how much concentration is used when transferring wounds using the quick option..
250 concentration
485 Empathy
40 Stamina
50 discipline
86th circle
taking an internal and external slight bleeder, and the subsiquent scarring, takes my concentration down 10%... that is with GOL and Refresh up, spacing this out for 10 different body parts over about 5 minutes (they got hit with boiling oil from a barricade) will cut my concentration and fatigue in half. Its a managable amount of concentration and fatigue to get off most healing spells with a snap-cast, but gone are the days of healing a bloody puddle in about 10 seconds (without casting refresh and Blood Staunching first at least while your fatigue and concentration recover).
I can imagine that the new concentration calculations will cause many empaths to change how they heal others

The player of Heartsfyre brought this up to me sometime late last week with the 'fast' or 'quick' healing option and not being able to cast off healing spells right after to which I was unaware. So experimenting, I healed the wounds off of her, and I didn't notice but a very small minor dip of 5-7 degrees in concentration until she told me I wasn't healing fast enough (meaning my healing wasn't on a 'script'). First off, I have never used 'fast/quick' option in empathy healing because I can't seem to tell the difference compared to the absence of using it soooooooooo, - I just don't use it. =)
So I ran my normal heal script instead which is absent of any quick/slow/half/or whatever healing options. I then noticed what Heartsfyre (and others on this board) was saying, that there is indeed a noticeable dip in concentration of about 80 points from my normal figure of 203 (that is with GOL and Refresh up). While I couldn't snapcast the most basic heal spell (EWH) at that point, I still didn't experience the difficulty of getting off any healing spells that she and some others were experiencing. It seems that some have experienced a slightly longer wait time than I did in being able to cast successfully. I for one don't see this as hampering any empath's ability to heal, since before new concentration came aboard, fatigue level would have played into how quickly an empath could get off their heal-spells after mass healing more than 1 person. It just now means until empath systems get merged into the new Concentrate board, just gotta play smarter and I guess be more observent than ever before about how you heal others and yourself. No more playing Super-Healing Empath whether you are level 30, 50, 80, etc.
Observe and play smart~

Finally, a perk to being over 100th, cause I've had no problems at all even when in Super-Healing Empath mode.

I was joking hun. However, it did make me feel rather good the other night when all the empaths around me were complaining about the problem while I was practically uneffected. And now I'll be comparing Mingold to Chuck Norris in my head for the rest of the day, so, THANKS!

I have a 51st circle empath with discipline at 26 and concentration of 145. With 345 empathy I can not take all of a patient's wounds without completely losing my ability to cast. I take the wounds one section at a time, externals, then internals, then external scars, then internal scars. This completely tanks my concentration, usually down to about 10. I've found that if I have a patient who is really bad I have to take the worst wounds first, heal them while I still can, then clean up the little stuff when I'll have time to recover. Now be sure with the new changes I will be upping my discipline at every chance I get. Still when I have multiple people to heal it makes it quite difficult. If I truly want to retain my concentration I have to go much much slower.

I noticed a drastic change in my ability to heal. When attempting to clean people up from the invasion on Sunday, I was easily able to tank my concentration to zero in about 10 seconds.
Discipline : 50 Wisdom : 50
Intelligence : 50 Stamina : 70 +
Concentration: 295+ Max: 295
Empathy: 513
I believe what I was experiencing was a bug. I have a script that attempts to transfer wounds from every possible body location using the quick option (and sometimes the part/half/most option as well). If the patient had blown out chest as their only wound, my concentration running the script would go to 0 and I was not only unable to cast any spells, but also the regenerate spell I had on myself just stopped as if I had released it. I find this odd behavior, its as if we take the concentration hit of transfering a wound even if the patient technically has no wound for a particular body location. After watching the outcome of my script I then attempted to manually heal people with a small set of wounds (but of similar severity) and my concentration barely dropped.
So is this a bug? Concentration hits for attempting to transfer body locations that have no wounds?
Does using the option Quick vs normal take more concentration?
Does using the option part/half/most take more concentration?
Do the two options combined use more concentration than if used seperately?

Unrelated question: Do you experience significantly less damage from critters with 70 stamina? Someone mentioned to me that they noticed taking significantly less damage from critters when they charged their stamina up a ton. Mine is my second lowest stat, which I guess is unusual for an empath.

I take a lot less vitality damage and I am virtually impossible to stun (I have never been stunned in combat, even after having limbs removed). As for damage dealt to body locations, I think I take less but that could be a perception thing. It has allowed me to over hunt in the past (dancing with 2 black leucros with 135 in defenses). Combined with plate armor I am pratically industructable unless I am far far out classed.

Definitely not a bug and definitely not something new from the concentration changes, but that's one of things someone could look at and go "hmm, it doesn't make sense anymore, I think I'll (ask to) change that". The concentration hit works along the lines of the Little Jack Horner nursery rhyme.
Little Jack Horner sat in a corner
(I forget this line)
He stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plum
and said, "what a good little boy am I!"
Little Jack is the empath. Sticking in your thumb is you using the TAKE command. The plum is the wound you transfer.

Yes x 3.
