A fallen log blocks the path to the south and forces travelers to skirt around the puddle at its base. Many years dead, its branches are chewed off, its trunk is split, and old char marks near a split limb hint at fire or lightning as a contributing factor in its demise. But life springs from death in the fens as in the forest, and graceful orchids and bromeliads have turned the fallen trunk into a nurse tree on which they feed.
Obvious paths: north, southeast, southwest, northwest.
Try fleeing in a direction that doesn't exist in that room, for example east when there's only exits to the west and north. I think you'll like the messaging much more to your liking that way:

I think all of the flee messages are meant to be stereotypical, tongue-in-cheek sorts of things.
Moon Mages get something to the effect of "You think about displacing yourself to a galaxy far, far away."
Just supposed to be something to laugh at.

But the Empath one is just condescending, not funny. I'm not adverse to an amusing one, but I think we can do better than "Tee hee I guess I should go back to shopping!!11"
The reason I posted this is actually because a few other Empaths have recently pointed it out to me (again), and feel similarly.

I think it's very tongue-in-cheek, personally. I can consider asking for it to be revised, I suppose, if enough people are really upset about it, but it's not high on my priority list, to be honest.

Does it play to stereotypical bard ideals (that I personally HATE by the way)? Sure, but I don't get upset over it :(

Hey Guys! I've never used the flee command before. In fact I didn't know it existed til recently. I think its kinda fun when the messages are sarcastic or condescending. It adds some flavor. But if others are offended and object enough to have it changed then I'd be fine with that too. I get plenty of sarcasm from my daughter.

I don't mind the message personally, I always took it to be humorous mockery of a stereotypical cowardly Empath... but the point about the specific word "decide" is a good one. In-game messages shouldn't tell you what your character thinks or wants to do. Replace it with something less forceful and I'm good with it.
