While bunnies are useful for a great many things, they do not as a general rule serve well as janitors.

Squelch:

wounds look better
bruises look better
scars look better
twitches look better
twitching looks better
numbness looks better
winces in pain
cries out in pain
tears of pain stream down
swooning from some incredible pain

That should cover most of it. Helps a ton and I think even if you squelch nothing else you should still squelch healing scroll.

I always thought this was what distinguished using TAKE from TRANSFER when healing a patient. Somewhere in the misty past I recall hearing that TAKE squelches third-party messaging while TRANSFER does not. I've never done a test on it though. Anyone know?

I can't speak for TRANSFER since I never used it, but I know TAKE doesn't squelch anything.

I don't think there was ever such a difference, at least not in my memory... but it might be a good thing to develop and tag in... seriously, what if you just see that "xxxx is being healed by Souv and his wounds are miraculously healing" once at the beginning instead of all the superscroll?

I believe you're thinking of the "Empath just touched Patient" message. I don't know if it's still true or not, but TRANSFER used to send that to the room for every inury being transferred, while TAKE did not. I didn't realize that until someone pointed it out to me way back when (because both gave the "You touch Patient" thing to the Empath), and have used TAKE ever since.

I would be a-ok if healing went the way of orb rubbing so that only the people actively involved get the room messaging.

I tested this morning, and it looks like both TRANSFER and TAKE work the same way now.

I think this may have been an inadvertent side-effect of the updates I did to healing way back when.

There needs to be some indication that an empath is actively healing a person, for a couple reasons. One is so that other empaths can tell and don't try to heal that person. The other is that if someone is involved in a conflict and an empath heals them, the other party needs to be able to tell.

I'd be perfectly fine with reduced messaging, though, along the lines of "Person's wounds vanish as Empath becomes more wounded" for every X amount of damage taken or something. So that it wouldn't message for every single body part.

or if when you touched the person, you got a message -- Empath xxxxx has a healing link established with this person. It could even be something skill based, like PP and Empathy, the ability to perceive LINKs empathic transfers, and shift links..

Good idea, but the ones who will need the messaging the most are younger Empaths.

I don't think an extra ability is necessary however. I've set highlights for all the possible TOUCH messages, so all that is needed is to watch for them.
