We have no idea, actually. All we basically got was a semi-official maybe from Ssra (a highly enlightening post along the lines of ":hums:MAAAAAAAAAYBE!") that they were even a developmental possibility for empaths in general. He blurted out his little half-teaser, some of us were like "wha?! SCORE!" and naturally we've attributed it to our slice of the home lore pie.
