Is there a timer on learning from successive perceive health uses beyond the "you're not ready to do that again" message? If so, how long is it? Thanks!

There's a per-room timer similar to the timer on perceiving mana.

There is also a timer when you move from room to room. The last detailed check I did about 40 ranks ago was 10 seconds after the RT from the last PH ended. I'm pushing Empathy for a spell right now so I'll check the timing more closely over the next few days. I'm not sure if it decreases as Empathy/PP skill increases.

There is a PH time, yes, it decreases ever-so-slightly with icnreased ranks. But seems to cap out around 8-10 seconds afaik.

My experience is that there's no timer as you are describing. I learn appreciably faster from empathy scripts when I make the pause between perc health's as brief as possible.

You two are talking about the same timer. Mana Perception is action-RT-move-action-RT with no extra waiting between move and action. PH makes you wait another 10 or so seconds after the attempt's RP expires, thereby letting you move rooms--action-RT-move-more (PREP-like) RT-action-RT-move.

So, to recap, you've got two timers. First one is on when you can even perc health again and consists of hard RT plus a soft RT cooldown. Second one is based on the room you perceived health in, which lasts for a couple-few minutes and prevents subsequent attempts in this room during this countdown from giving you experience.

I believe that is describing the "You're not ready to do that quite yet" timer.

Yes, there are two timers, as J'lo explained.

Indeed. I took JMF's comment to be on the room timer. There is also the PH action timer which starts after the RT ends on a succesful PH. Generally I move right after the RT expires to find the next NPC. Testing last night gave me 8-9 seconds of time which was down from the earlier 10 seconds I had when I last checked. Easy way to check that timer is on the ramp to/from the Trader's Market or in the Paladin Guild where you have an NPC in each room.

Small misunderstanding, I think... we're all agreed there's only two timers. I call them the action timer and the room timer. What I responded to was something in the post that implied the action timer required changing rooms, which is false. I took that to mean a third timer of some sort.

>There is also a timer when you move from room to room.

The action timer doesn't track what room you're in. You can perc health twice in the same room as soon as the action timer runs down; you just won't gain exp from it until the room timer elapses.

We were talking about the same thing, yes. Only two timers. Thanks for stating it better than I did in the original post.
