On one of my jaunts like he's fixing to take, I ran into this character on several worlds. Normally this talk drives me crazy, but I just found her to be hysterical.. and I was always glad to find her on other worlds. Believe me I tried to get her over to DR. Each place she has one character that is a Tog type character but her communication and how she says words are always typed/said identical. How she does it I have no idea. I showed one of her story tellings to the old player of Xorg one night over at my house and he found it as funny and amusing as I did.
Not everyone will appreciate it, but here is a link to one of her "story-telling" nights long ago that I saved to my site.

I played WoW in beta, I played it when it was released, I quit and moved on. I'll be doing the MMORPG circle soon enough and I'm sure I'll eventually end up back in WoW. For now come Monday, I'll be on my mini-break while I play Guild Wars. Yes I like Guild Wars, and the online play is free so I really can't go wrong. Anyone else who plays, just let me know.

It doesn't seem all that well-known, no. It's getting LOTS of critical praise though. I'm quite excited about it. I've also turned on a couple non-Simu-player friends to it, and they're excited too.

I tried that one too. After you hit the max level (which is only 20, btw) it gets sorta pointless. The only thing after that to do is slowly gain xp and get more points for abilities...but there arent too many to get after you hit 20, and pvp, which is a TON of fun for a while. Playing the Hall of Heroes (I think is what its called) is great fun, and I still go back every once in a while for a round or two of that.
For some strange reason, no other game holds a candle to DR, except possibly Shadowbane. Thats the only other game that keeps my hubby and I going back to it almost as often as DR.

It's not had enough exposure to have the MMORG world quivering yet. Usually you'll hear everyone clamoring over a new one about a year before release. Generally speaking, HJ has to get closer to being real for those outside the Simu circle to be speaking about it as an up and coming game.

My hubby is in pretty deep with the MMORPG games coming out, and he's only seen something about HJ a couple times. I'm not sure when their estimated release is, but so far there hasnt been much press about it outside the DR circles that we've noticed.
And, oddly enough, one of his college assignments every week is to comment on gaming news, so he stays up to date on all the new comings and goings.

Graphical MMORPG's are overrated. And I'm not looking forward to HJ. My 1.5 cents.
And nah, I'm not kidding Dulcinia, I average 150wpm typing speed. I'm asian, it's in my blood. ::duck::

You just completely contradicted yourself! Asians were BORN to play graphical MMORPG's. Well...maybe its only Koreans, but still! I swear Asians rule every graphical game out there, except possibly Eve. :-P

Well, I use asianness (i am korean) as an excuse for everything. I'm the furthest from the asian-stereotype you will ever see. I don't like rice, I detest seafood, and I can't use chopsticks to save my life.
Oh yea, and I suck at DDR.

We had a large korean population at my highschool (by korean I mean from korea on student visas). Those guys could party like no other. A bunch of them were in a dance troupe and they put on this ridiculous break dancing show at all of the talent shows, it was awesome, pretty much the entire reason people went.

I got pretty excited about HJ, then remembered I have a mac, so I can't play. And before you all tell me to get a peecee, check out the quad core G5 and tell me you didnt wet yourself at least a little.
Id be excited about HJ because it is a fresh start, a new experience and from Simutronics, the makes of DR, best game ever.

Nah. For the same money, I could get an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ or Athlon FX-57 system. Apple's switching over to Intel and the ubiquitous x86 architecture in the very near future anyway--if you like MacOS, soon it will be possible to run it on your PC, while if you like the hardware (and I do), soon it will be possible to run Windows on it (though I'll still probably stick with AMD).
And I'm waiting very impatiently for SonyToshIBM to release their Cell processor for desktop use.
PS: It DOES blow that there will be no Mac client for HJ.

Too bad the bottleneck for most decently written apps isn't the CPU.
And also....
My NVidia card renders DR so fast... it's like lots of FPS! dude!
Lots more stuff coming 'Soon'!

Right, the quad core wont help much for most games yet, but something about the prefix quad... I don't know.
I've just used macs all my life, had friends using windows for so long that hate it. I can't see myself on a machine running windows. Sad but true. Also wont buy a high end mac. Dont have the cash, and all I really do is write papers, surf the web and play DR.... I dont need too much speed.

A quad core G5? Oh my gosh. That is amazing. I could...um...play DR really well with that...heh! :D
No, it really is pretty darn cool, I just don't do anything that needs that...
If you use OSX can't you emulate a windows environment and play? It'd be a slowdown but it's doable...

Erm, No, no, and no on the mexican and the combinations of any of those three. Just a normal chick that ended up playing the game with some friends and ended up being good at it.

I've also always been on a low end machine, comparing only with other low end PCs. I really have no idea what I am talking about for the most part, and can't make a good argument for macs, or against Windows computers, other than virus/popup probelms, but those are solvable. Just preference is all.

Alright guys, I got the new computer for Christmas on Friday, and for anyone that hasn't noticed, I've offically gone on my mini-break. I'll be playing Guild Wars so if anyone else plays, my AIM is VillyaDR, go ahead and send me a IM.
I'll be back for OF COURSE, special events, the Merelew Quest, and the Wedding. Just think of this as a little breather inbetween. :)
You guys and gals have a good holiday, and I hope to be passing out invitations to you soon.
