Just a message to wish you all a wonderful start to 2006! I hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

My wife and I are finally going to have a honeymoon (we were married in July) and will be in Japan, UK and Europe from 21 Dec till 27 Jan, so obviously I won't be in the realms for that entire time.

Once again, all the best for 2006 and thanks to all of you who have made 2005 so much fun ;)

>>Mmm, pocky.<<

MMM indeed, you can get Pocky at Suncoast Video and online, but they don't have the same flavors that you can get in Japan. Political correctness of the US also does not allow for the sale of "Men's" and "Women's" pockey, although the only difference is in the size and ingredients used. My favorite will always be strawberry though

Pockey is a japanese candy. Picture a a think, cookie stick covered with chocolate and I think you would get your basic pockey. I usually find it at the grocery store, you know the high end kind, not you basic local one. If not there, asian stores are also good places to find a wide variety.

Over here in the States, we call that a Big Kat (recent product evolution of the pinky-finger-sized Kit Kat bars.)

Ah, but pocky is round. And you can get it in many, many different flavors.

Is it like...a really thin semi-long stick type cookie thats dipped in chocolate? I think we may have tried some at one point, being in Hawaii theres a TON of asian type foods around here. I may have to look closer down the sweets isle next time I'm out and about.

Pocky is more like a pretzel than a cookie, actually I think they are pretzels...

There are some interesting brand names in Japan, like Pocari sweat, which is a sports drink and one of my all time favourites, Colon Chocolate <shudders>.

I love Japanese fruit, they're always so big and juicy..I hate to think what chemicals went into growing them..

Last time some friends of mine took me out to an Izakaya (kind of a restaurant bar) where they made me eat horrid things like Natto (fermented soy beans), basashi (raw horse) and to top it off -shirako (fish sperm).

I made them eat Kangaroo and emu on their last visit here, so I guess we're even..
