Ok, I would like some expert opinions on using Guardian Spirit to "hunt". I want to create an Empath and use them to hunt and earn my money that way. I enjoy being out in the field helping people rather than sitting in town. But I also enjoy doing my own thing. I have heard a lot of differing opinions on the GS but I would like some expert opinions on those of you who use it exclusivly to hunt. Can the GS be a viable option all the way from level 6 to 150+? Meaning, can the spirit take on creates at all level ranges? Will it need a combination of HL, NB and Lethargy to get the job done or can it effectively tank and kill at all ranks? Inquiring minds would like to know, and thank you!

My empath is currently hunting celps but my avenger cant even hit a lethargic slept celp.

GS level is determined mainly by circle with charisma also a factor. So maxed out they are about Raider level.

Wow bummer. Was hoping they could go all the way to the top! :) Anyone else have any other experience with the GS?

I find the GS to be very effective, but then my empath is 70th circle and just starting combat. My Avenger kills critters in one to two hits. Current combats are only 70 ranks at this point though. If the Avenger mirrors your empath stats, then keep in mind I'm hunting 50 circles above where most other guilds are for that critter.

They're hopefully going to be TM-based eventually. I only use mine to underhunt when getting skins or vulture hearts or whatever. The avenger dies when I hunt at level.

...but I'm training my TM against that day, and I encourage other Empaths who want to get the best they can out of the new avengers to do the same. It's not that bad to train, even if you just listen to classes for a while, until you can hit rock guardians.

>> If the Avenger mirrors your empath stats

aaaand, to go for the elusive triple post, I have to say that this is not the case as far as I have seen.

You are certain that the alfar avenger is healthy.
You are certain that that the alfar avenger has an incredible spirit that is healthy.
You are certain that it is about as agile as you are.
You are certain that it is somewhat less quick to react than you are.
You are certain that it is somewhat weaker than you are.
Taking stock of its offensive abilities, and defending with no weapon and wearing a shalswar-hide buckler, you are certain that the alfar avenger is a relatively easy opponent.
Taking stock of its defensive abilities, and attacking with no weapon, you are certain that the alfar avenger is something that you could tear to shreds.

Near 100th circle..hunting gryphons comfortably. The avenger gets waxed in gryphons btw.
