All I want to say is, Thank you! Before the con, I was on the verge of rerolling after losing alot of the fun and interest I once had in the guild. I love empathy and can't wait to see how everything else coming is. If its as great as this, then I'll be one happy person.

ok, I've been a little out of touch lately. What exactly changed besides the name of the skill? Or where can I find the info on that?

As far as I know, other than the name change, it can be learned from perceiving health. That's about all the practical things for now, but other than that, the theory behind it paves the way for many more interesting changes to come! And it broadens new applications to how we can use Empathy, whereas the applications of Trans were rather limited.
At least, this is how I understand it.

>So we can perc health like we perceive power?
Actually, we've always been able too, but now it teaches empathy as well. Although I'm finding it teaches pretty well percieving health on critters, too. <g> Of course this is sandies, where there are often enough half a dozen on me at any one time.
Haven't figured out how to reset the timer, if its new people, or what, but I'll get it eventually, I'm sure. Could try powerwalking some place like goblins or rats, where the critters really swarm. Yet another advantage to being a Battle Empath. ;}
Thing is that it takes at least some skill in power perception to really get much. Of course breaking the 100 power perception mark is far, far more valuable for mana reasons than perceive health, or at least it used to be.

The two things I love about perc health are, a)it has longterm growth potential (ie, the more skill you have, the more benefit you get), and b) it is now designed to give more potential learning with higher skill as well, when our pools are harder to fill. I <3 that mucho.

Actually, I tested with a new empath. It takes some skill to get anything at all.
