I've just witnessed the most unusual death I've ever seen. Unless I've gone totally crazy, there is
precisely no cause of death here. This person was an empath in the process of healing someone's death scars (limbs) who just keeled over and died. I checked her health after she fell, and it was as follows:

Fresh Internal: minor swelling and bruising around the left arm -- more than minor
Scars Internal: a constant twitching in the left arm -- damaging
Wounds to the RIGHT LEG:
Fresh External: light scratches -- insignificant
Scars Internal: a partially paralyzed right leg -- very severe
Wounds to the LEFT LEG:
Fresh External: deep cuts across the left leg -- harmful
Scars External: severe scarring along the left leg -- very harmful
Scars Internal: a severely paralyzed left leg -- devastating
Wounds to the RIGHT HAND:
Fresh External: deep cuts across the right hand -- harmful
Scars External: severe scarring and ugly gashes about the right hand -- damaging
Scars Internal: a constant twitching in the right hand -- very harmful
Wounds to the LEFT HAND:
Fresh External: light scratches -- insignificant
Scars External: minor scarring along the left hand -- more than minor
Fresh Internal: minor swelling and bruising around the left hand -- minor
Scars Internal: a constant twitching in the left hand -- damaging
Wounds to the CHEST:
Fresh External: deep slashes across the chest area -- damaging
Scars External: severe scarring along the chest area -- very harmful
Fresh Internal: slightly tender -- negligible
Scars Internal: a painful chest area and difficulty getting a breath without pain -- very severe
Wounds to the ABDOMEN:
Fresh External: light scratches -- negligible
Scars External: slight discoloration -- negligible
Fresh Internal: minor swelling and bruising in the abdomen -- more than minor
Scars Internal: an occasional twitching in the abdomen -- more than minor
Wounds to the BACK:
Fresh External: light scratches -- insignificant
Scars External: slight discoloration -- insignificant
Fresh Internal: minor swelling and bruising in the back -- minor
Scars Internal: an occasional twitching in the back -- minor
Wounds to the LEFT EYE:
Scars Internal: minor internal scarring -- negligible
Wounds to the SKIN:
Fresh Internal: some minor twitching -- more than minor
Scars Internal: minor internal scarring -- insignificant

<censored> is suffering from an insignificant loss of vitality (2%).
She is almost exhausted.

As you can see, there are no fatal wounds or scars (I myself had that same internal chest scar at the time, and I was quite alive), and the vitality loss is next to nothing. The death messaging was not that of a spirit death, so that can't be the case either. Needless to say, I am a bit puzzled.

Those were her injuries after she was already dead (and had been so for a few moments), so I'm quite certain she wasn't taking on any more at the time <g>.

did she try and heal that internal chest wound? seems like that scar might have been too much for her stamina to handle and it killed her. prolly wrong on that though.

I've always heard rumors of combinations of bad wounds or scars adding up to be fatal where they might not be otherwise, like Miki said.

It's not really something I've ever been able to pin down, but then again I haven't really wanted to test it.

Sort of stating as well as asking at the same time. This scar is pretty near the end of the internal scarring that an empath can encounter while healing. If she was taking an internal chest scar while healing, that would have done her in with the next pulse. The pulse right before this is "difficulty breathing." Depending on the external chest scarring, which in this case was severe scarring [very harmful], she would have flopped over and died. It's not so much a shocking thing as something that all younger empaths need to be warned about. I always heal my internal chest scars at the difficulty breathing stage, and very rarely do I go beyond it to the painful chest stage.
As for the [useless] notation, I thought that only had to do with wounds, not scarring...again, I could very well be off.

Looks like the chest scar did her in. Though you can live with that scar its the next step below death. Mebbe herbs healed it a tiny bit after she died.
