>>Gamergirl151: IZ takes mana based on use of the TOUCH command and not pulses.
Without touching anything, IZ drained mana every 30 seconds when I tested it in Prime.
I'm guessing TOUCH just accelerates the mana cost, because GMs probably don't want us dealing TM damage multiple times while only spending mana once every 30 seconds. (I'll test this with Absolon's script that monitors mana cost with a timer.)

Sorry I meant not just pulses. The mana cost seems awfully high like that, but I guess it is sort of like how SLS functions. I'm not a fan of the double dipping on your attunement, since you run through it fast using the attack a lot. However, the damage output is pretty generous for that trade off. Guess I'll just have to get used to how it feels.
Also this spell being esoteric it mindlocks my Life Magic reaaaaally fast, even when I'm not using it. I haven't timed it but the exp rate is pretty high compared to all my other spells.

Did you mean Moongate? SLS only drains attunement on pulses while Moongate is the one that has extra attunement drain off the pulses.

It just occurred to me that you meant the difference in cost SLS has in and out of combat. It's not quite the same thing, since in combat SLS behaves just like other cyclic TM with attacks and normal attunement cost on each pulse. Out of combat the only thing different is the attunement cost in each pulse is as though you were casting it with a third of the mana.
IZ appears to have normal attunement costs on each pulse with additional attunement costs on each touch. Or maybe the normal pulse cost is lower to compensate? Or if not, maybe it should be?

Yea I meant SLS for the in and out of combat difference. It was the only spell that came to mind as comparable with the different passive/active costs.
IZ's passive cost is the same as its per-hit cost. When running at 45 mana it's very noticeable on both. So every 30 seconds I'd lose 45 mana, and every use of TOUCH I also lose 45 mana as an example (same % of my attunement lost).

Because you have learned the Magic Theorist feat, you can attempt to INVOKE the scroll to temporarily memorize it.
Roundtime: 15 sec.
As a non-Empath, is this something that I could even use? Anyone out there have it on another guild and find it useful/fun?
