I just wanted to say a few thank-yous for some of the stuff I spotted during the festival -- if the Empath team isn't the right people to thank, I'm sure they know who ought to be hearing it!

The Empath-only merchant, Natural Magic, was lovely -- even though I'm not super-duper into cambrinth, all of the items were just great and there was certainly something to appeal to every kind of Empath. I especially liked seeing the Guildhall variations on the guild crest embroidered on the robes and pouches in the room behind the screen. The shields back there were really neat, too!

That, coupled with the merchandise in Weelegend's Wagon, made for some nice shopping for things that are Empath-ly but not dripping with unicorns and light, shiny fluff. While I would have liked to see more useful alchemy toys and gadgets, I have faith that things along those lines are coming for the guild shop and for use in the expanded guildhalls.

And I wanted to give a personal thanks to Artisan Finara, who worked wonders on my cambrinth orb with just a vague idea from me:

You get an amber-tinted cambrinth orb carved to resemble a ball of yarn from inside your bunny knapsack.
>l orb
It's evident that no warm sweater will be knit from this yarn, given the trio of tiny ivory kittens that are hopelessly entangled in their favored "toy." One kitty is so looped within the string that all you can see are his mischievous emerald eyes while the other two play tug of war with a knot.

Teh cute... I can't stand it... :)

I saw some great stuff too. Especially that 4th shield on the wall. I can almost afford it.

Someone (Tsarenzi?) mentioned in another thread that there's a stove you can wear over a shoulder, which still functions as a stove. So you can do your cooking alchemy without risking losing the stove on the ground, which I thought might be of interest to you folks.

Many nice things.

I will say...in the future..please consider more WORN cambrinth. I don't believe we have ANY, which is really a pity considering that 1) Empaths lose a LOT of cambrinth when they have to hold it in their hands. 2) Being able to utilize worn cambrinth gives Empaths a goal AND saves them a lot of money in the long run.

So, once again...lots of amazing things..and the cambrinth IS lovely, but please next time think about including some WORN ones.

I agree, I have tons of camb that I wish I could wear cause it's awesome. Although I do love the camb earrings, anklet, and ring that I got. Just as a side note, how much MD is needed to use camb while wearing it?

I've heard you'll start getting success occasionally around 160 MD and should be pretty much 100% by 180.

I'd like to add to the plea for more worn cambrinth, being able to use it without risk of losing it to a bad wound is such a bonus ... not to mention fewer steps and less typing, always a good thing.

But useful.

<<Worn cambrinth is tacky.>>

::grumble::

You are wearing (some other stuff) a delicate cambrinth lotus blossom suspended from a platinum hip harness, an exquisite white gold and cambrinth armband, a delicate cambrinth ankleband inlaid with pink sapphire lotus blossoms, a dainty cambrinth ankleband with delicate platinum filigree.

Now, I'll grant you most of my cambrinth is covered by my mage's robe but I love the irony of using beautiful, dainty, feminine things to blow huge gaping holes in things' chests.

And un-dyed cambrinth is so UGLY.

I believe a GM once posted that it's a black mineral with red veins. Ugh.

Count me in on the "I never wear cambrinth for fashion reasons" group. That's also part of the reason I never wear a gweth. :)

Hm. I thought it was said cambrinth was a metal, but I've seen "cambrinth crystals" in game. Plus faceted orbs...Meh. It confuses me.

Is it really black with red veins? Ick. Talk about gothic. I knew there was a good reason I didn't wear it.

I went and dredged up the post:

Ok, I'll spill the beans (it's not like anyone who looked at the Y'Shai don't know anyway):

Raw cambrinth is an opaque grey-black mineral with a silvery sheen and reddish highlights/veins. However, through magical or forging processes it can take on different tints or tones as well, but those will always be altered shades.

Rigby

So, there you have it. Cambrinth = ugly.

It'd be neat if they made some setting (similar to the ones from the Theren Fest that you could put the gems into) that would hold 'held cambrinth items'. So, you might end up with something like:

A silver necklace dangling a tiny cambrinth flea

Yeah the empath merchant I liked... I bought a lot of camb bugs. Didn't know what the gourds were for really. hmm...

Oh and Anvaya rocks my world.

a maggot-white traveler's backpack rounded like an egg sac

The spidersilk has been tugged away in places, leaving thin patches draped over the large backpack. Strange bulges protrude here and there like un-popped bubbles on the surface of a chalky white bog, while loops of excess thread stick together to serve as shoulder straps.
There appears to be something written on it.

A large traveler's backpack reads:
"She wraps her prey in a gossamer womb..."

While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,

I'd like to second the praise for the two sister alterers. I love the work Finara did on my orb. ^_^

a gold-swirled cambrinth orb embraced by a floppy-eared cinnamon brown bunny
>look orb
The little emerald-eyed rabbit is draped possessively around the orb so its paws are almost touching. Its head is slightly raised and tilted, framed by crushed velvet ears. A small sign around its neck says, "Wanted: Carrots."

It is cute beyond words. I'm glad I wasn't persuaded into a grendal or a fat musk hog. ^O^ Again, lots of thanks to the both of them for being there. I know alot of people were waiting a while.
