When you attempt to align to a dead node with empower moonblade it messages The dead node in your moonblade doesn't stir.
After that though, it says That is not a valid entry and runs off the Align command help text for predictions and aligning to moons. The information while helpful to other applications of Align doesn't apply in this situation. Bugging it ingame as well.
>align moonblade

You attempt to thread Clear Vision into your moonblade.
The dead node in your moonblade doesn't stir.
That is not a valid entry.
A Moon Mage with your training may use align in the following ways:
Syntax: align <skillset|skill> <curse>
Alignment is required before attempting to predict the future, both with visions and divination tools. You can attempt to align a prediction to a specific skill and can also try to purposefully curse your target with a negative prediction.
Skillset options are Magic, Lore, Offense, Defense and Survival. You can also attempt to align any specific skill.
Curse is only used to attempt an intentionally negative prediction.
Syntax: align moon <moon|sever>
Moon allows you to align your magic to favor one of the three moons. Spells that rely on a moon will default to your alignment if you do not designate a different moon when casting.
Since you are well versed in planar travel, you can also align yourself to the fallen moon Grazhir.
Moon options are Grazhir, Katamba, Xibar and Yavash.
Sever disrupts any alignment you currently have.
Syntax: align split
Split allows a sufficiently skilled Moon Mage to attempt to make a prediction without using all of their stored observations for a single skillset at once. This must be performed in preparation for the prediction to follow.
Syntax: align transmogrify <skillset1> to <skillset2>
Transmogrify allows a sufficiently skilled Moon Mage to attempt to transfer observations from one skillset to another. Note that this is an extremely advanced technique.
Skillset1 is where the observations are being transferred from and skillset2 is destination.
