Can we put one of our renown scrolls inside the astral plane?

That's a cool suggestion, and seems right up the alley of some of the guild leaders.

It is an intriguing idea, but would moving one of the existing scrolls be better, such as the circle-based one in Throne City? Or perhaps we should have a new scroll created that tracks other skills? In that case, should the requirements have something to do with the astral plane itself? I'm working on the assumption that Tiv's scroll will one day reappear where it was and not be in a new place.

You see Grazhir cracking open in one sharp movement.
The World Dragon emerges, roaring soundlessly.
It moves to sear Katamba to a lifeless black.
You see the night sky, filled with stars.

A moon mage renown scroll in the astral plane seems purpose built to attract and offend Pelag Ai Aldam. I can see signing your name resulting in being immediately expansed.

As an aside, please return to us the scroll that was lost in the volcano!

Seriously we need that scroll back, even if the Guildhall never gets rebuilt. In either case it should in the meantime be moved to Throne perhaps.

Naturally. It would also be prudent of the Pelag to wipe clean any shard names you had memorized so it will be a bit of back tracking to re learn them. And of course if he was doing his job right he would randomly show up to smite anyone learning a grazhir shard's ritual name.

>>Pelag

While I agree the objections people have given make sense, I tend more toward looking for ways to expand adventure and gameplay instead of tripwiring it right out of the starting gate.

Pelag doesn't kill everyone who enters the astral plane, which leaves us with two possibilities:

1) Either he is usually in a jovial mood and grins as Moon Mages sail through his world, only killing during occasional times he is grumpy,

2) or else he is always homicidal but can only find and kill the random Moon Mage.

The second sounds more plausible to me and implies there are things that escape his notice. Some could easily be remote and isolated areas he is not aware of scattered throughout the astral plane.

These could include areas where Moon Mages have extended time in the astral plane (not by much, doubling the time at most) to work the scroll or collect certain rare sigils for enchanting or observe certain heavenly bodies under different conditions with different results or whatever.

The astral plane should never be a place where Moon Mages could stay any real length of time, and the dangers should remain with maybe a few more added, such as hostile astral creatures or astral vortices or fluidic whirlpools, but there are also opportunities for development.

There could be many reasons for going there besides travel as long as there are appropriate risks involved.

Pelag hangs out in the Plane of Probability most of the time. The Astral Plane is functionally a middle-ground between the two planes that it is in for its own reasons sometimes.

This makes the Pelag sound like a mover and a shaker, I wonder what it's up to. I've been under the impression that the Pelag is the Second Shaman from the Arbiter in darkness who asked for knowledge, so it makes sense it's spending most of the time in Plane of Probability. It also makes it seem like it's constantly murderous towards moon mages but only kills the ones who are unlucky enough to cross paths with it.
