Part 2 of the fantabulous meeting! Huzzah!
You say, "But another thing All things have in common, besides just crap happening to, is that they end."
Vivviane curtsies gracefully.
Caelumia says, "Died after the turtle."
Hex Zyxan just arrived.
Linkwurst says, "Just pointing out that this Conversation has turned to philosophy at it's most basic."
Ealuik says, "An interesting theory."
Vivviane quietly says, "Travel safely all, and guard close not only your soul, but the souls of your friends."
Rekletiva raises an eyebrow in Linkwurst's direction.
Ealuik says, "That all things end."
Kryeus nods to Vivviane.
Linkwurst bows to Vivviane.
Elsbecca smiles at Vivviane.
Mystic Cierst just went south.
Rekletiva says to Linkwurst, "You mean at its most inane."
Kryeus says, "Thank you for your insight."
You ask, "Do they not, given enough time?"
Caelumia nods to Vivviane.
Caelumia says, "Thank you for coming Vivviane."
Citizen Aeraven just went south.
Aluriaz says, "be well"
Vivviane nods to Caelumia.
Radivnal shifts his weight.
Rekletiva gives Vivviane a courteous nod.
Vivviane leans on her staff.
You say to Vivviane, "It was a pleasure listening to you speak."
Linkwurst says, "This has hardly been enough time."
Aluriaz says, "I look forward to stories of prophecy"
Radivnal bows to Vivviane.
Vivviane smiles a bit oddly at Linkwurst.
Daellid bows to Vivviane.
Linkwurst says, "but yes, eventually they all lead there."
Zyxan says to Kryeus, "I would like to know more of your cryptic musings outside."
Zyxan nods to Kryeus.
Linkwurst just hugged Vivviane.
Vivviane quietly says to Linkwurst, "I have seen you in my dremaing. We shall meet again soon."
Rekletiva gazes upward.
Radivnal says to Vivviane, "You have my respect, thank you for your contributions to the discussion."
Linkwurst nods to Vivviane.
Kryeus points at a shadowy mirror.
Rekletiva asks, "You don't believe all things end?"
Linkwurst stands up.
Kryeus says, "Look for yourself."
Radivnal bows to Vivviane.
Zyxan gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Vivviane curtsies gracefully.
Linkwurst shakes Vivviane's hand.
Dreamer Vivviane just went east.
Ealuik says, "No, I do not."
Ealuik takes a sip of his coffee.
Zyxan furrows his brow.
Caelumia asks, "What doesn't end, then?"
Ealuik asks, "What does?"
Linkwurst ponders.
Caelumia says, "Ahh."
Caelumia says, "I think I understand."
Tyler chuckles to himself.
Eason chuckles.
Eason nods.
Rekletiva says, "Teleology might."
You raise an eyebrow in Caelumia's direction.
Kryeus says, "Perhaps if we are optimistic."
Kryeus grins at Rekletiva.
Aluriaz ponders.
Ealuik asks, "THe sorcery itself might end? Or it might end something?"
Caelumia says, "The influence of an object reaches far beyond the actual existence of that object."
Linkwurst says, "That's a streach by even a Bards imaginations."
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "Active voice, not passive."
Mystic Cierst just arrived.
Rekletiva winks at Kryeus.
Ysselt snorts, loudly.
You say, "Ahh."
Caelumia asks, "Do I interpret correctly?"
Lothirania gazes at Linkwurst.
Rekletiva says, "Latter, Ealuik."
Linkwurst says, "Our being optimistic that is."
Ealuik says, "Certainly one angle to it, Fateweaver."
Kryeus's ghostly shield fades away into nothingness.
Kryeus leans back.
Mystic Cierst just went east.
Aluriaz stands up.
Eason nods politely to Caelumia.
Ealuik says, "By that definition, nothing ends, it is merely altered in some fashion."
Raliena yawns expansively.
Caelumia says, "It's basic determinism, and I'm disappointed in myself for not seeing that from the get-go."
Caelumia chortles softly at some secret joke.
Raliena leaps to her feet!
Aluriaz says, "I gotta scoot as well, be well, all"
Rekletiva flashes a quick grin.
Caelumia nods to Aluriaz.
Aluriaz waves.
Caelumia says, "Thank you for coming."
Elsbecca waves.
Aluriaz says, "thankee fer good meetin"
Ealuik gives a slight nod.
Enchantress Aluriaz just went east.
A shadowy mirror shudders and splits into a thousand shards that quickly melt away.
Your visions due to the Shadewatch Mirror cease.
Raliena says, "controversal"
Eason ponders.
Rekletiva says, "Mirror is still there, folks."
Rekletiva gestures at a shadowy mirror.
Elsbecca gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Nilassa gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Kryeus gestures.
The air around Kryeus begins to shimmer.
Kryeus just went east.
A grumpy Shadow Servant trudges off, following its master.
Eason gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Hex Zyxan just went east.
J>gaze mirr
You gaze into the shadowy mirror to see...
[Kalestraum Manor, Balcony]
The stained glass doors open up to a balcony enclosed by a sculpted marble banister. The branches of two nearby hickory trees camouflage the building, which looks out over the treetops. In the distance, a single tree towers above the rest, its pale shimmer setting it apart from the rest of the forest even more than its impressive height. You also see a shadowy mirror.
Also here: Scion Ealuik who is sitting.
Obvious paths: none.
Niaura gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Daellid gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Rekletiva places a hand on a shadowy mirror and closes his eyes in concentration.
Lothirania gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Ysselt asks, "Oh, what are we watching?"
Ysselt beams!
Lothirania smiles at Ysselt.
Paschein says, "The Scion."
Rekletiva says, "Just a Scion and a Votary or two."
Linkwurst takes a sip of his Juice.
Ysselt says, "My favourite."
Rekletiva gazes at his fingernails.
Raliena gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
You say to Ysselt, "One who takes part in this discussion, but did not travel here."
Ysselt gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Caelumia takes a sip of her misthaze.
Paschein gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Caelumia says, "I do not blame him."
Caelumia says, "Master Kssarh would murder me..."
Caelumia frets.
Caelumia says, "Moreso than usual."
Eason chuckles.
Daellid chuckles.
Kryeus just arrived.
Hex Zyxan just arrived.
Zyxan gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Ealuik asks, "Was that an invitation? Or a request to stay away?"
You ask Caelumia, "Would ... or will for even having him here in the way that he is?"
Kryeus gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Linkwurst says, "With more gusto."
Ealuik takes a sip of his coffee.
Caelumia says, "Well if you want to come..."
Kryeus raises an eyebrow.
Rekletiva says, "I don't think she has the right to invite you. It's really not her house."
Caelumia says, "But you have to promise to retrieve my body for me when he tosses me into the sewers."
Raliena raises an eyebrow.
Radivnal gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Zyxan clucks his tongue and shakes his head.
Hex Zyxan just went east.
Ealuik says, "Sewers. So damp and moldy. Allergies, you know."
Caelumia scoffs.
Raliena laughs!
Caelumia asks, "Kryeus, you'll rescue me won't you?"
Ealuik takes a sip of his coffee.
Raliena covers her mouth with her hand.
Kryeus says, "Of course."
Raliena says, "go for it"
Rekletiva asks, "What? Doesn't teleology fix that ill, as well?"
Raliena says, "whats the worse that could happen"
Ealuik says, "Besides, you can't expect an old man to go dromping through sewers."
Kryeus asks, "What are we suggesting again?"
Caelumia says, "Well it seems Kryeus will retrieve me."
Ealuik asks, "Have I declared that teleology cures any ills?"
Ealuik raises an eyebrow.
Rekletiva says, "Ealuik. Here."
Raliena looks at Kryeus and shrugs.
Rekletiva grins at Kryeus.
Caelumia says, "You have actually."
Caelumia nods to a shadowy mirror.
Kryeus asks, "No one has pointed out how terrible an idea that is?"
Caelumia says, "Not to these people..."
Caelumia says, "But I remember a discussion some time ago."
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "Caelumia has."
Ealuik smiles slightly.
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "Something involving sewers and death."
Ealuik asks, "And what ills have I declared that it will cure?"
Ealuik takes a sip of his coffee.
Linkwurst says, "I hope that with the Ways being as recent a gift as they are, we would, as a whole, be ready and willing to protect the ability from any possible threat. Indeed, if Teleology does not directly threaten the use of the Ways, it certainly could make them more dangerous."
Rekletiva blinks at Linkwurst.
Raliena says, "I think that old man holds a bit more wisdom then most of us and we should probably mind him a bit. Just a thought."
Rekletiva asks Linkwurst, "Eh, what?"
Linkwurst grins.
Kryeus says, "The old man is a snake in the grass."
Linkwurst asks, "oh, is the meeting over?"
Caelumia says, "People are getting their planes mixed up again."
Linkwurst yawns expansively.
Linkwurst stretches his arms.
Ealuik chuckles to himself.
Raliena says, "even snakes hold inteligence for they must stalk and kill thier prey"
Rekletiva says to Linkwurst, "The Ways aren't connected to are ability to predict, I do not think."
Raliena shrugs.
Kryeus says, "We are the prey."
Rekletiva ponders.
Caelumia says, "No we're not."
Caelumia sighs.
Artificer Nilassa just went east.
Rekletiva asks, "Unless you have some other indication?"
Rekletiva glances at Linkwurst.
Caelumia says, "Okay."
Kryeus says, "We, are are."
Ealuik says, "In a sense, he is correct."
Caelumia says, "The story."
Caelumia nods to a shadowy mirror.
Caelumia asks, "Oh?"
Radivnal chuckles to himself.
Raliena says, "If we were the prey we'd be a myth already."
Raliena says, "just a feeling i get"
You ask, "If we are the prey, who is the predator?"
Raliena shrugs.
Kryeus asks, "Does he need to make any stronger implications?"
Ealuik says, "Knowledge."
You ponder.
Caelumia says, "You're never straightforward are you."
Caelumia takes a sip of her misthaze.
Rekletiva says, "Knowledge as predator? There's a metaphor I would never have thought of."
Ealuik raises an eyebrow.
You cock your head.
Radivnal says, "Funny coming from you, Caelumia"
Radivnal grins at Caelumia.
Rekletiva chortles softly at some secret joke.
Caelumia says, "I'm very straightforward."
Ealuik says, "And here I thought you'd applayd my openness."
Linkwurst asks, "So Teleology does not threaten our ability to Travel? Only to predict?"
Raliena says, "nothing wrong with seaking knowledge is there? truely this is a guild built on that exact action"
Caelumia says, "If I say I am going to kill you I am probably going to kill you."
Radivnal chuckles.
Rekletiva nods to Linkwurst.
Caelumia asks, "Would you like me to?"
Caelumia smiles at Radivnal.
Linkwurst says, "or die trying."
Radivnal rolls his eyes.
Kryeus grins.
Rekletiva says to Caelumia, "You're the one who admonishes people to behave."
Caelumia says, "Forgive my little jokes."
You say, "That was in fact very very straight forward"
Linkwurst coughs.
Linkwurst says, "Kidding on the square we call it."
Caelumia says to Linkwurst, "Considering the presence of the Pelag ai Aldam in the Astral Plane..."
Caelumia says, "I would say it is a factor."
Raliena says, "maybe you should ask him exactly what he seeks "
Raliena shrugs.
Linkwurst nods to Caelumia.
Kryeus says, "One could surmise is threatens everything we are."
Rekletiva says to Raliena, "He's listening. Ask."
You say to Caelumia, "And what, other than Servant of Fate and a construct, is the Pelag ai Aldam"
Ealuik laughs!
Ealuik says, "What indeed."
Caelumia laughs!
Radivnal grumbles to himself.
Rekletiva says, "Ghost in the machine."
Caelumia says, "Ask the Pelag yourself."
Radivnal glances at Rekletiva.
Raliena asks, "Dear scion, what I pray is the knowledge in which you seek of us?"
Caelumia says, "If we go by old fables..."
Linkwurst exclaims, "He's always present....always watching!"
Linkwurst shudders.
Caelumia says, "The Pelag ai Aldam is a being that can See with perfect clarity the Weave of Fate."
Rekletiva says, "Ah... unblissful knowledge."
Linkwurst asks, "Oh, Delvan?"
Daellid laughs!
Caelumia says, "And with Seeing, has the power to move it in any manner he wishes... yet he is bound by the same clarity that gives him his power."
Caelumia says, "Delvan isn't very intelligent."
Caelumia says, "Moving on."
Raliena says, "Im to young to envoke a answer from someone as ancient as he"
Tyler chuckles.
Caelumia says to Raliena, "The Scion has never been one in my experience to answer questions directly."
Raliena says, "he answers with more questions"
Caelumia exclaims, "What a generous gift!"
You ask Caelumia, "Is that is all that's known of the Pelag?"
Raliena says, "leaving mysteries to be atteneded in his absense"
Raliena says, "clever"
Rekletiva asks, "Would you have him as a teacher instead?"
Radivnal grins wryly.
Raliena asks, "Why cast out such knowledge?"
Caelumia says to you, "Save for what the Scion here has hinted at... which may or may not be pure fiction."
Far Seer Elsbecca just went east.
A cantankerous Shadow Servant trudges off, following its master.
Rekletiva says, "Danger and stuff."
You nod.
Linkwurst says, "'Cause we're hungry."
Raliena says, "life is danger"
Linkwurst rubs his hands together.
Rekletiva says, "Indeed."
Ealuik says, "I shall continue on with it, as I heard no objection."
Rekletiva gazes upward.
Raliena says, "please do Im intrested"
Raliena takes a seat.
Ealuik says, "Fateweaver, repeat your information on the Servant of Fate."
Ealuik says, "Please."
Linkwurst takes a sip of his Juice.
Linkwurst places a hand on a shadowy mirror and closes his eyes in concentration.
Caelumia asks, "What you have said, or what I have learned elsewhere?"
Ealuik says, "What you just spoke. Merely for refreshments sake."
Tyler gazes morosely into a shadowy mirror.
Caelumia says, "The Pelag ai Aldam, the Servant of Fate, is a creature capable of seeing the design of the Web of Fate with absolute, perfect clarity, and with that sight, has the power to manipulate things to his will."
Caelumia says, "His power rivals that of the gods if the stories are to be believed."
Caelumia takes a sip of her misthaze.
Raliena nods.
Linkwurst asks, "Is it truely a being or just a construct of imagination, then?"
Caelumia says, "He was once thought to be fictitious."
Ealuik asks, "And it is said he has the power to manipulate it to whatever direction he wishes, no?"
Caelumia nods to a shadowy mirror.
Raliena says, "every fable has a generated point"
Caelumia says, "But his visions also prevent him from doing so."
Raliena nods to Linkwurst.
Linkwurst nods.
Rekletiva frowns.
Caelumia says, "His power is tied to his foresight and he is absolutely bound by it."
Ealuik says, "Now, a counterpoint."
Caelumia takes a sip of her misthaze.
You ask, "If he...If he manipulated it, would he lose his visions?"
Raliena says, "do you think in some way he can figure out how to unbind himself"
Caelumia tilts her head, clearly curious about something.
Raliena says, "just a thought"
Rekletiva gazes upward.
Linkwurst says, "We need Teleology to set him free. He's like a mink in a trap."
Ealuik asks, "If you were to unaturally sever your thread to the plane, would operation beyond his vision be possible?"
Rekletiva gags horribly and gasps for air!
Rekletiva coughs.
You ask, "When has setting things free ever worked out for this guild?"
Rekletiva clears his throat.
Rekletiva says, "Excuse me."
Ealuik takes a sip of his coffee.
Rekletiva leans against a small bubbling cauldron of viscous gloop.
Radivnal coughs.
Radivnal appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Caelumia frowns thoughtfully.
Radivnal glances at you.
Kryeus says, "Quite an aspiration."
Raliena asks, "do we know that to be true?"
Linkwurst says, "MAybe that's why the zoo is really closed. Someone set the animals free."
Rekletiva snickers.
Niaura ponders.
Caelumia says, "I'd never considered it."
You say, "That is quite an interesting thought"
Raliena says, "like I said"
Lothirania chuckles.
Raliena says, "from a diffrent angle"
Raliena grins at Caelumia.
Rekletiva asks, "Why would you want to operate beyond his vision?"
Linkwurst says, "I think I must head back to Throne and do some studying."
Caelumia says, "Because this creature ..."
Caelumia says, "It hates us."
Linkwurst waves.
Raliena asks, "do we know that for sure?"
Rekletiva says, "Ah. Defilers."
Rekletiva nods politely to Linkwurst.
Caelumia says, "It despises us, it hates us with every fiber of its being."
Rekletiva waves to Linkwurst.
Traveler Linkwurst just went south.
Caelumia says, "It wants to destroy us."
Raliena says, "or is it just history and heresay"
Rekletiva quietly says, "I forget details easily."
Rekletiva says to Raliena, "He, ehm, finds us in the microcosm."
Caelumia says, "Imagine such an existence..."
Niaura asks, "Us.. moon mages? or everyone?"
Caelumia says, "Knowing free will is just an illusion."
Ealuik stands up.
Caelumia says, "Not just philosophizing and theorizing but really -knowing-."
Raliena asks, "isnt it though?"
Radivnal leans back.
Rekletiva says, "It's not certain."
Rekletiva looks at Raliena and shrugs.
Raliena says, "exactly"
Ealuik says, "That shall be my gift for you this evening. A maddening though to ponder over through the morning."
Rekletiva says, "It is for him."
You say, "It is quite a gift."
Rekletiva smiles.
Rekletiva says, "Thank you, Scion. Most appreciative."
Caelumia lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Raliena says, "indeed"
Caelumia says, "This with what you've said before..."
Caelumia gets a plain parchment scroll from inside her tailored longcoat.
Ealuik chuckles to himself.
Rekletiva leans back.
Tyler closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Raliena says, "i like the art of mystery, it leaves so many open ended conclutions that are both delicious in complexity and frightening in magnitude"
Caelumia says, "I've lost."
Caelumia nods to a shadowy mirror.
Rekletiva raises an eyebrow in Caelumia's direction.
Eason rubs his head.
Raliena says, "dont sucume top defeat so easily "
Raliena says, "too rather"
Ealuik says, "A good morning to you all. A most entertaining and fulfilling meeting."
Raliena nods to Caelumia.
You say, "It really really was"
Eason nods to a shadowy mirror.
Caelumia furrows her brow.
Ealuik bows slightly.
Raliena says, "agreed"
Ealuik gestures at a shadowy mirror.
A shadowy mirror shudders and splits into a thousand shards that quickly melt away.
Scion Ealuik went through some stained glass doors.
Your visions due to the Shadewatch Mirror cease.
You ask Caelumia, "How do you mean you've lost?"
Rekletiva makes a grunting noise.
Rekletiva gestures at a shadowy mirror.
A shadowy mirror shudders and splits into a thousand shards that quickly melt away.
Caelumia quietly says, "I've lost."
Radivnal grumbles to himself.
Radivnal studies the faces around him.
Kryeus shakes his head at Caelumia.
Raliena says, "now Cael you are as brilliant as they come... ponder those untapped portions of your mind and i know you too can put together this puzzle of complex fragments of information"
You tilt your head with a curious expression.
Rekletiva says, "I think the problem is that she did."
Raliena pats Caelumia on the back.
Eason shifts his weight.
Rekletiva frowns.
Radivnal slowly says, "I do not like that man...in times as dark as these he holds no answers, merely more questions...we don't need questions...we need answers..."
Caelumia looks thoughtfully at Kryeus.
Eason casually observes the area.
Radivnal furrows his brow.
Rekletiva says, "No, answers are useless without the right questions."
Raliena says, "our jobs as moon mages are to seek those answers not given "
Radivnal says, "It is your job to survive."
Niaura jots down some notes.
Raliena says, "that too"
Raliena nods to Radivnal.
Radivnal nods to Raliena.
Rekletiva says to Radivnal, "The answer is 42."
Radivnal says, "You need answers to survive."
Radivnal frowns at Rekletiva.
Niaura scrawls in her journal with her stylus.
Rekletiva quietly says to himself, "Find the question."
Kryeus says, "Ever a frustrating evening."
Raliena says, "the scion is meerly a guide in a moon mages never ending quest to seek that which is not known"
Raliena says, "in my oppinion"
Rekletiva sighs.
You nod to Raliena.
Radivnal asks, "If it is never ending, why seek out that which you can't have?"
Rekletiva says, "The Scion is a Moon Mage."
Raliena says, "exactly"
Raliena grins at Rekletiva.
Kryeus says, "The Scion is no moon mage."
Radivnal sighs.
Eason raises an eyebrow.
Radivnal clucks his tongue and shakes his head.
Rekletiva says, "He's a Lunar Mage, then."
Rekletiva grunts at Kryeus.
Eason says, "He's not? His connection with the Plain is unprescedented then"
Eason nods to Kryeus.
Kryeus says, "He is an outsider, an enemy. His words are insidious."
Rekletiva says, "Yes. Words can have that effect."
Raliena says, "knowledge is never ending therefore questions will never be ending thus secureing our place in our own history"
Kryeus says, "Equivalent talents and studies does not make him one of us."
Daellid says, "I'm sure he is skilled in lunar magic, but not welcome in the guild"
Caelumia peruses a plain parchment scroll.
Eason asks, "Then what makes me one of us?"
Eason leans on Kryeus.
You ponder.
Niaura whispers something to Eason.
Rekletiva says, "Kssarh likes you."
Rekletiva says, "Kinda."
Eason ponders.
Rekletiva says, "It's like a club."
Rekletiva says, "In or out is a matter of politics."
Raliena says, "Cael correct me if im wrong here"
Kryeus says, "The Lunar Accord, if nothing else."
Rekletiva says, "Yes."
Daellid says, "It is a hierarchy, and the scion is not part of that Hierarchy, simple as that."
Lothirania casually observes the area.
Raliena asks, "in history did not some moon mages get banned from our guild for acts not becomming a moon mage?"
Radivnal studies the faces around him.
Kryeus says, "He would destroy that heirarchy, given the opportunity."
Raliena peers quizzically at Caelumia.
Rekletiva nods.
Rekletiva nods to Raliena.
You say, "He truly is not a member of this guild. His is outside. Similar talents but outside the heirarchy as some have put it."
Caelumia blinks.
Daellid says, "Certainly he would."
Eason gestures.
Caelumia asks, "What?"
Kryeus says, "Don't fall prey to his siren's song."
Raliena says, "and as such could it not be possible that of them there might be a growing number wishing to reach out to thier moon mage history and learn whatever they can from us"
Kryeus says, "We're nothing but pawns, and he will play you like a fiddle."
Radivnal says, "Might I suggest a train of thought? Unrelated to the Scion, but very much relevant to the Moon mages..."
You nod to Raliena.
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "You're mixing metaphors."
You gaze at Radivnal.
Kryeus exclaims, "I used two!"
Kryeus shakes his fist!
Rekletiva grins at Kryeus.
Raliena asks, "could infact this scion be a part of that number of outcasts?"
Kryeus says, "Besides, one was a simile."
Caelumia joins Tyler's group.
Rekletiva says, "True."
Niaura shakes her ebony stylus!
Rekletiva grunts at Kryeus.
Niaura turns a page in her leather journal.
Niaura scrawls in her journal with her stylus.
Raliena says, "just a thought. if ones knows much about us and our magics could he and his followers not be of that part whom were shunned long ago"
Kryeus says, "They are the resurgence of such a group."
Caelumia whispers something to Tyler.
Raliena says, "ah hence the quest for knowledge"
Kryeus says, "Their quest for knowledge was the same."
Tyler nods to Caelumia.
Rekletiva sighs.
Kryeus says, "Sorcery."
Raliena says, "i think Im beginning to understand"
Raliena says, "well"
Kryeus says, "They will be routed just the same as before."
Rekletiva says, "I think she needs the history lecture."
Radivnal says, "You all seek knowledge, you cannot seek knowledge if you are walking the Starry Road...your highest priority needs to be the survival of the Moon Mage Guild with everything else a secondary consideration. If something threatens your power, your survival (in this case Teleology) then you must avoid it. Warmages saw the devastating power of the Blackfire, we knew it would eradicate our way of life, we banished its knowledge. Take from this statement what you will."
Rekletiva blinks.
Radivnal says, "That is all I will say."
Radivnal leans back.
You ask Radivnal, "But eventually, does not hiding become all one does?"
Kryeus says, "And yet some of your number openly research it in Illithi."
Kryeus nods to Radivnal.
Raliena asks, "who said teleology is a threat?"
Doctor Tyler's group just went east.
Raliena says, "what if we obtained the knowledge they seek first"
Raliena asks, "would it not them be protected?"
Paschein bows to Ysselt.
Raliena asks, "then rather?"
Paschein asks, "Do we need to go over things for the Auction?"
Paschein smiles at Ysselt.
You say to Raliena, "It is a threat, as it can sever our threads to the plane of probability."
Rekletiva says, "Only if you want that connection."
Raliena says, "many things can affect our connection to the planes"
Kryeus says, "That is the question he left us to ponder."
Rekletiva nods to Kryeus.
Krisalia smiles at Lothirania.
Soldier Jhime's group just arrived.
Lothirania grins at Krisalia.
Radivnal smirks.
Jhime casually observes the area.
Krisalia smiles at Radivnal.
Jhime nods to Amorisse.
Raliena says, "and maybe in severing that connection knew things arise that are far more great and complex"
Kryeus shakes his head.
Raliena shrugs.
Court Advisor Paschein just went east.
You say to Raliena, "Or we become besieged by worse."
Raliena says, "time will tell all things "
You say, "That's the risk, even with us. We don't know what will happen."
Raliena says, "then a leap of faith is in order"
Rekletiva says, "Imagine, Ravidnal, if the use of Aether corrupts the Plane of Abiding, makes it lose its coherence. Now imagine if the use of Blackfire destroys Aether."
Kryeus says, "Raliena, what you speak is nothing short of madness."
Rekletiva asks, "Is Blackfire good?"
Radivnal says, "I told you, what I said before is all I will say. Make of it what you will."
Raliena says, "do we cower and stay as we are or do we face the possibility of emerging through this as something far more superior"
You say to Raliena, "Therein lies the question."
Rekletiva says, "My mistake."
Raliena says, "I say my oppinion sir, nothing more think me mad as you will but i have been raised to ask all questions and look at all possible outcomes"
Raliena nods to Kryeus.
You say to Raliena, "But would you propose to jump in completely, or to wade through the shallow waters before going into the deep waters of sorcery."
Kryeus says, "You would risk everything for a shot at something better, when you cannot even define better."
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "Welcome to idealism."
Kryeus says, "You're nothing more than a sorceress in the making."
Raliena asks, "did we not do that when planes travel came into play? whom knew what would happen from that at first?"
Rekletiva says, "No."
You say, "Who knows what can still happen with that."
Rekletiva says, "The Astral Plane has been in use by the Council before we had access to it."
Raliena asks, "and whom before them?"
Rekletiva shrugs.
Rekletiva asks, "Do I look like a Councilmember?"
Kryeus says, "You are assuming research in teleology is the same."
You say to Rekletiva, "No. You're breathing."
Rekletiva snickers.
Kryeus says, "It is an inherently destructive and disruptive art."
You ask Raliena, " You say you wish to not cower and learn that which may be dangerous. But would you go straight for that, or would you learn about it first?"
Kryeus says, "And you're falling into the belief that it is somehow the path to the future."
Raliena says, "learn of course for one is nothing but ignorant without knowledge to back up suck things"
Raliena says, "such rather"
Raliena coughs.
You ask Raliena, "And if what you learn has signs pointing for you to back down?"
Niaura says, "While I'm not a moon mage, I think it is important to understand why things are bad and banned. If one cannot understand that then one may become curious or out of ignorance, find reason to pursue the knowledge to use it."
Kryeus nods to Niaura.
Niaura says, "So in that sense, it should be studied, if only to understand why it is dangerous."
Kryeus says, "And for that I will fault our leadership."
Raliena says, "im falling into nothing meerly stateing that this is a possible growth of our kind and needs further study rather then dismissal"
Rekletiva says, "The question, ultimately, is not whether or not sorcery is better."
Rekletiva says, "It's whether or not you wish things to stay the same."
You say to Raliena, "On that we can agree."
Raliena nods to you.
Eason just went east.
Daellid says, "I think we are lacking in some parameters here."
Krisalia just went east.
Kryeus says, "There were several practictioners of sorcery amongst us tonight."
Kryeus says, "We've seen it used, we know what it does."
Daellid says, "We are confusing knowledge of sorcery, that is, knowledge of it's use and practice"
Raliena says, "and yet nothing evil came out of this meeting"
Daellid says, "With the knowledge which you could say we are acquiring tonight"
Krisalia just arrived.
Kryeus says, "Then you are not very observant."
Daellid says, "They are not the same thing"
Kryeus shakes his head at Raliena.
Eason just arrived.
Rekletiva says to Daellid, "In this case, I think the conflation is not a mistake."
Jhime grins.
Longalar just arrived.
You ask, "Nothing evil came out of this meeting. That is correct. However a path was laid in this meeting, and who knows the route of that path?"
Raliena says, "on the contrary sir, Im very observant I just dont see immediate threat as a unit right now with us gaining knowledge in all things like our history has shown"
Eason just went east.
Longalar just went east.
Daellid says, "IT is up to the individual to determine what is skillfull knowledge and what is not"
Kryeus says, "The knowledge of how to handle this resurgance is something you can gain picking up a history book."
Raliena says, "paths are either followed or ignored its up the practitioner to decide which is to be for ones own fate"
Daellid says, "Nonetheless, the practice is forbidden"
Kryeus says, "It should be rooted out and destroyed, and failure to do so will have consequences."
Raliena asks, "who forbid it?"
You ask Raliena, "At first, continuation, or most recently?"
Rekletiva says to Kryeus, "One choice, for us to repeat history over and over again. That IS one choice."
Raliena says, "most recently then going back to the later"
Raliena nods to you.
Kryeus says, "We must do better than history."
You say to Raliena, "Most recently would probably be Taramaine and the Council."
Kryeus says, "We must be preemptive and not reactive."
Raliena says, "why history has gotten us this far"
Dreamer Vivviane just arrived.
Vivviane leans on her staff.
You say, "Before, you know, the Council's lack of breathing."
Rekletiva nods politely to Vivviane.
Longalar just arrived.
Rekletiva says to Vivviane, "Ealuik tossed out some interesting claims."
Raliena nods to you.
Rekletiva says to Vivviane, "He seems to have broken Caelumia's mind."
Daellid chuckles.
Raliena says, "thats not hard"
Raliena coughs.
Raliena grins.
You say to Raliena, "But, It is forbidden by this guild, and by this province."
Raliena says, "just fooling"
Kryeus says, "She wavered in her position already."
Vivviane quietly says, "Ealuik serves a man who has said he wished to destroy the moon mage guild, and fiddles with the obelisk."
Rekletiva says to Raliena, "Try."
Rekletiva grins at Raliena.
Kryeus says, "I should hope that is not the last straw."
Raliena grins at Rekletiva.
Vivviane quietly says, "His words mean nothing to me."
Raliena winks.
Daellid says, "I didn't realize Caelumia had left"
Daellid sighs.
Rekletiva says, "Yes, well."
Rekletiva gazes off to the east.
Raliena says, "All things will be revealed in time as is such from the first day of time"
Daellid says, "I would have liked to thank her, as I must be off"
Rekletiva says, "Someone who's so bound up, so to speak, in the Fate of the guild..."
You say to Vivviane, "His words should mean something. For even if you feel them the words of a threat, they are then words to know so you can counter them."
You nod to Raliena.
Daellid beams at Rekletiva!
Kryeus says, "His words are temptation."
Kryeus shrugs.
Vivviane quietly says, "His threat is minimal at this juncture."
Daellid stands up.
Vivviane quietly says, "To the weak-willed perhaps."
Vivviane shrugs.
Longalar just went east.
Daellid pushes his spectacles up the bridge of his nose.
Kryeus nods to Vivviane.
Niaura ponders.
Daellid bows.
You say, "The words he laid down regarding Pelag ai Aldam were stronger than I think any expected to hear."
Rekletiva nods politely to Daellid.
You say, "Except maybe this strong willed soul."
Mystic Daellid just went east.
You cock your head.
Soldier Jhime's group just went east.
Kryeus asks, "And what proof did he offer?"
Kryeus says, "He simply offered a "what if""
You say to Kryeus, "None. Hence why I said words, not proofs."
Rekletiva says, "No, he posed a question."
Raliena says, "the threat now is of the children of the guild listening in on which dirrect path they should take in thier studies, for if more are made aware of these things more might choose to opt to learn more about this forbidden power"
Vivviane quietly says, "He will say whatever he needs to say to sway others."
Vivviane shrugs.
Rekletiva says, "A very pointed question."
Rekletiva nods to Kryeus.
You shake your head at Niaura.
Vivviane just left.
Raliena stretches her arms.
Raliena leaps to her feet!
You stretch your arms. Feels great!
Raliena says, "well this has been a most educational encounter Im sure."
You nod to Niaura.
You say, "Greatly."
Niaura nods to you.
Raliena says, "I thrive in the knowledge I've learned her and am anxiously awaiting the next encounter"
Lothirania shifts her weight.
Raliena grins.
Rekletiva chuckles.
Niaura jots down some notes.
Kryeus shakes his head.
And FIN!

Thank you for putting these together. This was my first actively participated in meeting, and I definately felt that I was on a different kind of level of playing and discussion that what I've been doing over the years. (Scripting, hunting, circling, repeat)
It even inspired me to go read up. I ran up to throne city and have been reading and re-reading all I can get my hands on up there. There is lots I've forgotten or never understood.
So...when's the next one? :)

Nice read! Good to see some articulate people going at the philosophy of Teleologic Sorcery as well as its potential dangers. Also nice to see some love for the Seven-Star Empire. Fascinating to hear about Pelag, I had no idea that was Its story.

While we are working to resolve all issues at this time, availability may vary. :)
But yeah I'll definitely keep an eye out. Although Vivvianne's player seems to have a good creepy-articulate shtick down. I may have to formulate a new RP plan for Plaith.

Start posting days and times you'll most likely be available. I'll also listen to ideas for topics (the two big ones floating around in my head right now are the Mirror Wraith Prophecy and the history of the sects (hee)) since I think we need a break from beating around the sorcery bush. That goes to everyone. I probably won't have another until after the con, though. Vivv, you need to IM me. :)
Now for a short blurb/rant. I've been wanting to say this stuff for awhile.
My goal with these meetings is to have them frequently (at least once a month) and vary the dates and times so anyone who happens to be interested in attending will hopefully be able to make one eventually. I'd also like to make sure they remain open and friendly enough to encourage people of any skill level (RP or rank wise) to attend. The last thing I want is for anyone to think they aren't "good enough" to attend and put forth their two cents or ask questions - nor do I want anyone to feel excluded just because they might think I don't like them. Everyone is plenty welcome. It's actually surprising how few people have come just to be disruptive; save for a couple of isolated incidents, pretty much everyone has been very polite and respectful of the environment and the people around them.
While I can't promise they'll all be zomgthrilling obviously (though Kheldun has been extremely accommodating with announcements even on ridiculously short notice while being very liberal with threats from Kssarh <3), as far as philosophical banter goes, we're doing pretty great and I'm proud of everyone that has come and participated, newbies and veterans alike. I love seeing new faces with new perspectives and new arguments showing up to say their piece.
It's all really the kind of nerdy crap that reminds me of why I play a Moon Mage. So I guess I'd like to thank everyone for making this all worth it and rekindling part of my passion for the guild. It's been very refreshing and fun. :)

It would be nice if there was some way for people who have no idea what's going on to get information... but that seems rather difficult. I was answering questions about who Ealuik was, who Kalestraum was, and trying to be brief because I knew better than to try to give a sufficient description.
I mean, I could say, "Him Bad Guy," but that wouldn't amuse me satisfactorily. And then there's that annoying IC/OOC line to ride... OOCly, I want to jack them in and download everything I know to their brains. But ICly... <shrugs>

I think these meetings are great as well and would strongly encourage anyone who is interested in our guild's history/information/philosophies/whatever the topic may be to attend and see what you can learn. While I can't promise that I will always be around during them to toss people out of windows, I will do my best to provide whatever is needed for these gatherings in the future. And to those of you who would attend for the sole purpose of disruption (in a non-RP manner, that is), if such a group exists, don't.

I'm new to this kind of involvement, but I realized pretty quickly that the first thing anybody can and should do is head to the libraries and start reading. This won't get a person up on current events but will provide a framework for one to ask intelligent questions about them. Then go bug someone like Caelumia. :)
I think that at a certain level as a moon mage, you SHOULD really know who Kalestaum was.
As for the current stuff, it'd be nice to see more IG texts. I would like to see more calls (like one recently) for articles for the newsheets. They are underutilized. What would be really super-extra-spiffy would be to see the newsheets archived in the libraries. I should probably go post that recommendation elsewhere.

Re: Meeting log, pt. 2 on 07/12/2007 05:13 PM CDT
I've been very tempted lately to write a couple of in-game books summarizing the past and recent activities of the Children of Kalestraum that newbies to the event could be pointed to, since the group is only touched on briefly in current in-game texts.
The only problem with this is I would be writing it from Caelumia's perspective. While that won't affect the historical integrity of the text (all the major and minor events would still be there) it might affect the overall spin the text is given. This doesn't mean putting them in an outright sympathetic or positive light (Cael remembers the events at the turtle and the obelisk far, far too well) there would be considerably less vitriol present and a bit more justification for their actions provided that would not be there were it written by, say, your average Celestian.
And this would likely lead to Kssarh doing all manner of unpleasant things to Caelumia, even if the book is politically "acceptable."
But hey... nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? ;)
>> While I can't promise that I will always be around during them to toss people out of windows, I will do my best to provide whatever is needed for these gatherings in the future.
Your presence has definitely been appreciated. I suspect it's at least partially responsible for increased attendance as well. No one wants to miss Kssarh yelling at people.
As far as topics go, I think the MWP is definitely up next. I'll have to bring in outside help for this one, so if you're interested in maybe writing a little speech/summary/lecture, toss an email at my play.net address. Viv I know wanted to talk about it, and the more people that were actually -there- for the stuff in question the better. Strk, I'm looking at you...

Very pleased you are continuing them. Though I am dismayed to learn one must be able to travel the AP to see one of the players in the upcoming conflict. Still, gives one an excuse to ask pesky questions in game.

Just to save you the trouble...
A skinny, pale-skinned Human with red hair appears in the distance. He looks at you with an expression of casual malice, like a child about to step on an anthill. Though his mouth remains closed in a smirk, his voice echoes loudly within the walls of your mind, "The Defilers of Fate are mine to claim and I demand sacrifice.
He points at you and continues, "He will do nicely. Run or stand, cry or rage; it does not matter. I am Pelag ai Aldam and Fate's sanctity will be served." As the projected thoughts fade from your mind, the man vanishes.
You feel a sudden, deathly chill in your flesh. The ground beneath you seems to lose all substance: it feels as though you are floating in the air. The color of the landscape around you quickly drains of color, then definition, leaving you with nothing but an endless grey horizon.
There are also numerous visions in the event prediction system featuring him that I don't have saved on this computer.
As an aside... I would highly recommend asking the researcher in Throne about Pelag ai Aldam. He has a few interesting things to say.

The prophecy is also briefly mentioned in "Denizens of the Plane of Probability."
