Been away for a while and I have forgotten the mechanics of using the Ways--can anyone share those with me?

Although it's tagged as needing to be updates to 3.0, most of the info is still relevant.

The order of steps that my ways travel script uses to get into the plane are:
1) PREP Moongate
2) While moongate preps, FOCUS [entrance shard name]
2) Harness up a nice chunk of mana (I harness 80 streams total in 4 sets of 20, but don't fry your nerves if you can't handle that much)
3) Once your spell is prepped, CAST [entrance shard name]

You should be in the astral plane now
4) Perceive to determine what direction to move (You're heading towards the center of the microcosm)
5) Move in the specified direction

Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach the Axis
6) Move around the axis until you reach the pillar corresponding to the destination shard you desire

7) FOCUS [exit shard name]
8) Perceive to determine what direction to move (You're heading towards the end of the conduit)
9) Move in the specified direction

Repeat steps 8 and 9 until you reach a room that contains the exit shard
10) PREP Moongate
11) While moongate preps, FOCUS [exit shard name]
12) Once your spell is prepped, CAST [exit shard name]

If you're a lower-circle mage, it can help to put up Aura Sight before heading in to reduce roundtimes on perceiving a bit.

Personally, I use teleport instead of moongate for entering and exiting the Ways. The advantage is that SLS will follow me through. The disadvantage is that you need to harness mana immediately upon entering and keep harnessing the whole time (SLS draws from harnessed mana first).

That is good questions. I have never tested it, but I will post results if I do.
