Do any current necromancer spells have anti-scrying powers similar to aether cloak? If not, are any planned? The description of obfuscation sounds like it ought to.
This seems like something that would be very useful to necromancers and fits with the corruption spell book.

>> Invisibility puts anti-scrying on you.
Err, no. You can locate through invisibility.
People asked for an anti-locate ability way back when. The GMs said no because if you are being located in the first place you already screwed up.

>>I'm pretty sure it's just Perception vs hiding. That is what it seems to be from my experiences.
Wouldn't surprise me if magical forms of locate would be PP vs. hiding (similar to how Revelation and Earth Sense work).

<<Most GMPCs don't use anti-locate. What they typically are is in a warded room or hiding, which will still exist.>>
My fault--I was thinking of "hiding ranks high enough to kill all locates" as an anti-locate ability.
To clarify...there will be a skillcheck for locates against anti-locate spells/abilities, but locating vs certain levels of hiding will continue to be impossible, regardless of perception/magic etc?
I understand warded rooms. I am curious whether GMPCs, and players, will continue to be able to avoid locate via a relatively low (on 2000 rank scale) level of hiding.
Didn't mean to derail, I'm sure it'll get discussed when that change is incoming.

Yeah, I really hope this goes away.

>Yeah, I really hope this goes away.
I'm fine with it going away, as long as the skill check is reasonable. Mage with < 900 pp should not be able to locate > 900 hiding. If anything, I think it should lean slightly in the favor of the stealthy, since they are actively attempting to avoid locate (but I'm biased). Mana has to play a part too. Distance as well?

IIRC current thinking on stealth-busting spells is that it's entirely legitimate to use a magic skill to determine if someone is there and who they are but perception must be used to gain point effect.
With that in mind, I am hoping Locate relies on Power Perception and Perception together.
