I may be totally blanking on this, but is there a way for us to get a read on our SO? I know the means for checking DO, but am stuck on SO.
Thanks

I think you can also ask Guildleaders about it, but I don't know if that's more precise than JUSTICE. It might just be a base "are you perverse or not"
Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

When you use "justice", you'll either see that you're completely cool, in the danger zone, or in the "DON'T TAKE ONE STEP IN TOWN" zone. I know of one guild leader that will actually tell you how many days (IRL time) that you need to avoid doing anything in town as well, just have to ask him the right way.
Justice:
R> justic
You're fairly certain this area is lawless and unsafe.

If that's all you get then you have zero (more or less) SO.
If you get that people are suspicious of you, don't stay in town too long and definitely don't do anything necro-like in town
If you get that people are convinced you're a necro, stay out of town!

Being suspicious or higher does two other things as well: Gives you SO (a % of your current) every time you gweth, and gives you SO if you are charged for minor crimes (such as thievery).
I kind of wish suspicious did more, but it's a nice way of getting an idea of which zone you're in.

Why does thievery cause SO? I mean, how do they make the connection between you stealing this scimitar and being a member of the necro guild? Seems like it would tell them you're a thief instead. Plus, I would think that necro thievery would be encouraged for thematic reasons as well. Just a thought.

ICly there is no necro guild.
Thievery used to cause SO regardless of your current SO level, but it was changed to only happen at suspicious or higher. The justification is that you are drawing negative attention to yourself in a place you really shouldn't be hanging around in in the first place.
