Righteous Wrath Scepter on 11/18/2017 05:31 AM CST
Was curious if we were able to use the Righteous Wrath scepter from the corn maze. I know generally Holy Magic and necros is really bad, but an item like this is different than the necro actually casting the spell since the spell is being powered and drawn 100% by the item. +Weapon skill buffs would be fantastic!
The scepter comes from this pouch:

With the caveat that I don't know about this exact item, the rules of thumb are:
Necromancers directly casting Holy spells, using devices like runes, are in for a bad time.
Necromancers using self-activating devices to access Holy spells, using devices like wands, are safe.
Our ruling has been that Holy magic is, with rare exceptions (Divine Intervention spells, mostly) just as mechanical and insensate as any other form of magic. The sin is in the casting, not the production of the effect.

Well, I forgot about using the Test instance, it works for anyone else who might be interested!
> rub my scept
You rub a regal diamondwood scepter capped with a trilliant-cut sunderstone.
Your blood begins to boil and with a mighty shout you allow the rage within to flow outward for all to see.
