Has mana been tweaked? I took a break for a while and, on my return, I've been feeling less mana starved. Could just be psychological. My casting habits haven't changed, however, and I rarely seem to dip below ~30% attunement even with TR up.
I noticed it a month or two ago but dismissed it since I had no data to back it up, and I know people have a tendency to remember things differently than they actually were. Before I took a sort of break, I couldn't keep up TR at 25 mana for very long in a blinding mana room. Now, attunement doesn't seem to drop much below 30% with a 25 mana TR while casting in a pulsating room, and I haven't gained much skill since then.
I vaguely recall Armifer stating in a post somewhere that he was going to double-check the numbers following some statements from paladin players regarding how tough mana management is at magic tert relative to magic primary and secondary.

Not sure why you're getting the results you're getting.
With 1K+ attunement in a luminous mana room a 25-mana cast pulsed every 10-seconds and used up all my mana in about 90 seconds. The spell is still unusable to me.

Was a bard in the room with you? They may have been playing Blessing of the Fae.

Do you have Efficient Channeling/Harnessing? They make a healthy difference. Decided to test:
You reach out with your senses and see brilliant (17/21)
You sense the Truffenyi's Rally spell upon you, which will last until you fail to provide 25 mana for it.
Started @77% attunement (too lazy to recharge fully)
@ 4 minutes - 41%-47% mana
@ 5 minutes - 39% - 46% mana
@ 6 minutes I stopped with 43% mana
No Cambrinth, No harnessing (in fact, stood still the whole time). No other parties in the room, no glyph of mana.
