Posting this here, just in case I messed up and it really belongs here with shield discussions.

Pardon if this ability isn't fully detailed.

I haven't had the time to fully think about all the kinks and drawbacks, but rest assure, it's something that is feasable and possible as well since we are a primary armor/shield skilled guild (and it's not a far out ability like arrow catching is with a specific guild in my opinion).

Designate whatever name you feel is appropriate to this combat ability.

Highlights and downsides to this ability:

1. You'll recieve this ability at circle 25th and the ability continually grows with you. (Till global caps feel they have to intervene for that specific ability of said circle).

2. Balance is a major factor of this ability if it's to be successful when implemented.

3. The foundation for this ability in order is:
Shield skill, agility, strength and finally reflex.

4. Upon missing a specific move there is a penalty of 1 rank drop per miss in balance.

5. Skill check is done on 50th+ circle manuevers (evasion and reflex), because even if you invoke the ability, you will fail if you lack the skills against a much higher level skilled opponent.

To invoke the ability, type (shield ability name) (creature/opponents name).

25th circle: Double hit move with shield.

Melee manuever, in a swinging quick jerk motion to and back, the shield hits the right-side of opponent's head, then upon quickly returning it back to it's original position, hits opponent's left-side of head.

*No rt, drawback is losing balance if unsuccessful though (2 rank drops if both hits missed). Highly recommend that this ability only be done when incredibly balanced with advantage.*

*Remember ability grows with you and with higher circles/skill you become more consistent*

30th circle: You are somewhat less likely to miss with the double hit shield attempt.

40th circle: You have now almost perfected the double hit move and can almost always make contact with the second hit.

50th circle: Double hit move with shield followed up with a shield body charge.

You have now mastered the double shield hit move without misses.

*Unless going up against a much higher circle opponent, which will cause you to lose 2 ranks in balance if you fail*

After a succesful double shield hit move this will now cause you to shield body charge creature/opponent automatically. The Creature/opponent losses balance since hit with a shield charge (2 or more balance drop on creature/opponent depending on hit level of charge, If charge is missed you will now find yourself at pole/missle since the momentum carried you there with loss of balance).

*Balance is the key with a successful charge*

60th circle: You are fully experienced with the double shield hit and cause more damage when creature/opponent is hit.

70th circle: The shield charge move can now cause creature/opponent to be stunned IF with enough force you send them to the ground.

80th circle: You have now mastered the shield charge move.

*You can now try this manuever at nimbly balanced (possibly solidly balanced), but always need some sort of advantage*

90th circle: Double hit move, charge and shield strike/bash.

After the shield charge is done you will immediatly follow-up with a downward shield strike/bash to creature/opponents head (Pancake world) while there are down on the ground.

*In order for this to work the creature/opponent has to be stunned moderately or better for this move to occur after being sent to the ground from a shield body charge*

100th circle: You are now able to lightly stun with the shield double hit move (since alot more damage is caused by now) in turn causing a bigger stun with the shield charge manuever which will floor the creature/opponent, which then will lead to a successfully strike/bash move to the head.

<Cheers Bistro>

That would be nifty, useful, and give me something else to do with my shield.

*(pondering over Diablo 2, and how he killed Diablo AND Baal using Holy Shield (DA! <Grins>) shield bash and Swordback Hold (really nasty spiked shield...just evil))*
