Okay how bout this. You see a heavy engraved glass vial full of thick creamy white polish. When purchased and rubbed on a sword or piece of armor it gives it a new set of verbs.
>apply my polish on my armor
You must be holding your armor in your right hand to do that!
>grum
You grumble.
>remove armor
You wiggle your way out of some field plate armor.
>apply my polish on my armor
Gently uncorking the vial with a distinctive "pop", you apply a generous amount of the polish to your feild plate armor.
>put vial in my back
You put your glass vial in your backpack.
>get cloth
You get a ragged buffing cloth from your backpack.
>buff my armor
With practiced skill you vigorously rub the polish into the metal in a circular pattern. A thick slimey-white residue begins to build up on it's surface.
>buff my armor
RT: 15
You continue to rub the polish into the metal, spreading the thick residue over most of the surface.
RT: 15
>buff my armor
You completely coat the surface of the metal with a thick slimey-white residue; making sure to get all the hard to reach cracks and crevaces.
RT: 15
>put cloth in my back
You put your buffing cloth in your backpack.
>get towel
You get a fluffy white towell from your backpack.
>wipe my armor with my towel
You begin to clean the polish residue off the surface of your feild plate armor.
RT: 15
>wipe my armor with my towel
Working with great vigor, you meticulously remove the last remnants of the polish from your feild plate armor. Leaving a gleaming sheen!
>look my armor
You see a set of field plate POLISHED TO A GLEAMING SHEEN.
>preen
You preen!
{verb} You breathe hot air on your polished armor/weapon causing it to fog slightly. Then carefully buff the area with a lose piece of clothing.
{verb} You run your thumb tightly across the polished surface of your armor/sword with a loud squeak!
{verb} You raise your polished weapon/armor in front of you, enjoying the flawless reflection.
{verb} You strike a heroic pose! Your polished armor catches the light, casting countless tiny sparkles around your feet.
* Once you use the polish, the armor will now also be effected by frequent bloodspilling. For instance....
Before hunting in peccs.
You see a set of field plate polished to a gleaming sheen. It sparkles in the sunlight/moonlight!
After hunting in peccs.
You see a set of field plate scuffed and marred.
or...
You see a set of field plate covered in dirt and grime.
or even...
You see a set of field plate spalshed with crusted blood and gore.
Oops looks like it's time to polish that armor again!
>get vial from my back
Just some thoughts let me know what you think.
Brittany (...the player of Aspasia Darkbrook)
"If ever the Darkness should conquer the Light, the last gleam shall come from the uplifted blade of one of a righteous Paladin."
Sir Cleworth, paladin initiation speech.
"The truth will set you free...but first it pisses you off."
