At The Meeting I noticed some talk about Soulstones...and Maece Asking for ideas for our shop so I cam up with a few..
a smoky soulstone amulet engraved with the head of a lion hung from a fine silver/gold/plat. chain.
Upon further examining you notice the head of the lion is has a glossy surface that swirls with patterns of black and white which resemble a churning thunderstorm.
a pure soulstone ring engraved with the crest of the Paladin guild.
Its glossy surface swirls with patterns of black and white which resemble a churning thunderstorm enhancing the crest which is engraved upon it.
an fragile looking smoky soulstone with small cracks upon it surface.
Upon further investigation you notice the cracks are not cracks at all but small patterns of black and white which seem to make the soulstone itself come alive.
a smokey colored statue of Chadatru..<or any other God you want I prefer Chadatru.> made of pure soulstone.
As you look upon the statue you see the mighty god Chadatru. He is wearing a blindfold, and in one hand holds a polished greatsword. In the other hand hangs a balance, symbolizing the justice which he upholds with pride. Almost out of nowhere you notice a lion that is curled around his feet almost piercing your soul with his gaze.
and of course how can ye have soulstones without this

Smooth and slightly oblong, the soulstone is about the size of a woman's fist. Its glossy surface swirls with patterns of black and white which resemble a churning thunderstorm.
i'm pretty sure this doesn't go here but it was on the topic of soulstones so i just figured i'd write a bit.
What if we could carve soulstones into little trinkets, perhaps the animal forms that relate to the different gods? possibly you would have to go the different temples and shrines around elanthia and pray to the different gods a bit before you could actually carve their animals from soulstones. I think it would give a little more definition to our guid, and get people out and learn a bit about he different gods.

I made a lengthy post on this concept over a year ago. The basic idea was that we could carve soulstones into the avatars of the immortals and strong them on a prayer chain. Of course while carving them we would get boosts to our soul (much as clerics get devotion for their bead carving).
If Maece is interested in this idea I will post a more detailed expansion of it in the near future.

I made a lengthy post on this concept over a year ago. The basic idea was that we could carve soulstones into the avatars of the immortals and strong them on a prayer chain. Of course while carving them we would get boosts to our soul (much as clerics get devotion for their bead carving).

Carving soulstones is definitely something we've all wanted for a very long time now. Roderigo is certainly not against this idea, it's just something down the road to look at.

Ok... is there anything that can be done initially? LIke maybe have some of us come up with suggestions as to HOW it might work... and post them? So you guys dont have much to do in the end? I know it may be a while down the road... but I am willing to help... Or is it basically something you guys need to do based on protocol?

This could go either way. I listen to all suggestions and mark just about everything down in my files. I already have some player feedback on soulstone carving so there is definitely a file going. However, on the other hand, soulstone carving (if approved) is so far in the future, that we would end up revisiting the topic anyway. But rest assured, IF we do move forward with the system, we will be seeking feedback from you guys.

If Barbarians can have the Chakral amulet to check their inner flame I don't see why the soulstone couldn't be worn. Would kinda be nice to be able to wear one. Maybe give them more function when made into amulet form. The actual amulet being made by a certain circle Paladin and enchanted somehow. Once made into amulet form the ability to say one every hour to focus on it and gain a bit of soul from it.

Rather than making them ALL "neck worn" amulets, a paladin of a certain level or mech skill or jewelry smithing skill if and when it goes into effect, has the ability to fashion the soulstone into a menu of jewelry item choices.. ring/armband/necklace/pin/bracelet/earring.

I like the small soul boost idea. Timered like the tithe box?.. boost ranges based on state of soul.. pristine boosts higher than steady white? Shouldn't be able to go from black to pristine by sitting there and rubbing over and over.. but should be able to get steady white to pristine with this little bit that overcomes the drift downward that hurts so many now.
The "enchantment" portion of it..doesn't really seem to be ours. Smithing it into a different type of jewelry, yes. Enchanting it should really be a Clerical thing.
