What I'd like to see in the guild store.
How bout some comemorative tower shields.
Engraved upon the face of this ornate tower shield is the detailed immage of several paladins holding loft the guild banner over a wrecked barricade on the Northern Trade Route. Numerous S'lai foes lay slain around them.
Emblazoned upon the gilded silver tower shield is the intricate immage of the Paladins of Elanthia, at the West gate of the Crossing, holding off a fierce Gorhbesh seige,
Etched upon the front of this massive shield is the immage of a bold paladin in golden armor leading his army to victory over the Red Sash pirates.
Tooled into the face of an Imperial War Shield is the immage of the mighty hero Lanival striking a death blow to his nemesis Teiro.
Any other ideas? Just a few off the top of my head.
Brittany (...the player of Aspasia Darkbrook)
"If ever the Darkness should conquer the Light, the last gleam shall come from the uplifted blade of one of a righteous Paladin."
Sir Cleworth, paladin initiation speech.
"The truth will set you free...but first it pisses you off."

A limited Pilgrim's Badge equivalent usable for soul gain similar to the merchant item. Call it a High temple (or whatever the gamgweth is) contemplation token/charm/whatever. It has either been impressed upon the high temple altar, or can only be so impressed by its buyer; no other altars so no increase in soul benefit past the base amount.
Perhaps if other stores open in other provinces, one could purchase an equivalent item only usable with the primary altar/shrine in that province. That way those not able to get the merchant item can potentially get several 'low power' badges for their use. The merchant badge would remain significantly superior.

Another shield idea would be a simple buckler (I mean, I like tower shields myself, but they don't all have to be tower shields)
It could have a single kneeling paladin before an altar with a lute on it amidst fallen friends and foes. (Steeler rules!)
Another could be the Sir Dwayne Commerative Tower Shield, just a minature version of the bas relief in the Theren Bath house.
