Guild shop weapon suggestions (hope its not to late to suggest.) on 07/28/2003 12:12 AM CDT
A cup-hilt cavalrymen's saber (HE)
Look saber: Engraved scrollwork embelleshes the blade's length. The hilt has been crafted from highly polished aminite-laced gold. Carved into the polished silverwillow handle is the Paladin's guild crest.
A steel-bladed Partizan(Pike/ht)
Look Partizan: Etched at the base of the steel blade is the paladin's guild crest. The shaft is made from polished flamewood.
A oak-shafted winged partizan(pike/ht)
Look partizan:
A variation on the spear you can only describe this weapon as a sword on a pole. This weapon has been designed for cutting and thrusting attacks and thus should not be underestimated. The wings that jut out at the base of the blade providing a means to parry an attack.
A basket-hilted Schiavona(HE)
Both basket and blade are crafted from blued steel. The pommel is crafted from polished brass. Being a Single-edged blade it is designed for cutting and thrusting. The blade is notable for its chir elegants.
A Foot Soldier's War hammer(2HB)
Look: The head and bracings of the hammer are wrought from therenginian steel and the shaft is crafted from solid oak. This hammer wasn't designed for looks, it was designed for the soul purpose of warfare. It is capable of inflicting heavy damage on even the toughest armors.
A twisted-hilt Claymore(2HE)
The grip is spiral carved wood, the pommel is gold, as is the guard. Etched scrollwork embellishes(know i misspelled that) the length of the well crafted silver blade. Engraved into the base of the blade is the crest of the paladins guild.
A steel bladed misricorde with a walnut hilt(LE)
Etched knotwork embellishes the length of the ornate blade. Tooled into the walnut handle is the insignia of the Paladin's guild. The miscricorde also known as the blade of mercy is used by a paladin to exact the final blow if an opponant refuses to surrender.
A flamberge rapier with swept-hilt(ME or HE)
(couldn't think of a good look but sounds great)
A jeweled Dirk
(can't think of any more looks just putting in the base tap ideas. You know... its really hard to think of good looks ...grins...)
A silver broadsword with double ring guard.
A polished walnut crossbow with highly engraved steel bolt plates.
An ornate ironwood crossbow with platinum bolt plates
These aren't the greatest suggestions but they at least provide suggestions and concepts for new and unique items. They are mainly designed in a more simple functional role. They would greatly widen the weapon selection and provide some nice alternatives (as long the stats are the best possible for store bought. It would be nice to get some more cut and thrust weapons also.) Also think it would be interesting if a couple of the blades came with sheaths(the shop could use more sheaths in general). Sorry if i'm rambling a bit way past my bed time. Well i hope you guys like the suggestions. Just a thought.

How bout an Ogre bone Goblin War Club made from the femur of an Ogre. And decorated with Goblin markings.
and how bout a Goblin War Mace decorated with an Elven Skull with spikes portruding from it.
And how bout a Goblin Door Shield!! ::Hums in Laythor's direction:: made from the door of some unfortunate victims house.

Those sound more barbarian-like. Not real paladin type stuff

You could say they were spoils of war, being sold in the shop as souvenirs from a succesfull raid on a Goblin clan that had been marauding and ambushing travelors in the meadows.
I know they're not very paladin-like, but still they're really cool!

Carefully crafted silver trimmed field plate.
look:
The armor has been painstakenly forged to allow a warrior the best field of motion, while maintaining the protection a master demands. Silver trimmed, with the Paladin Guild crest embossed over the right breast.

I stand, here and now, proudly declaring, I am a Paladin.
Remember those that came before, remember honor.

>>Some slightly better than store bought paladin-only-wielding shields would be lovely...
Make them Paladin-only, too! Soulstone chips in the grips or something. Not enough for them to give us information on our soulstates, but enough for the non-paladin-honor-stuff to happen to someone as if they tried walking past a (non-Tower of Honor) soulstone arch.
