Ok, this does not make sense to me at all.
a steel shield shaped to resemble a large dragon's scale
You are certain that it imposes a moderate maneuvering hinderance.
You are certain that the shield offers fair to very impressive protection.
You are certain that the steel shield is fairly sturdy, and is in pristine condition.
Why is it that the new warmie guild shop gets better shield than the paladin guild shop? How many warmies out there even USE shields, anyway?
Maece, if you could look into why they can get good shield while we're stuck with normal ones, it would be much appreciated. This just seems like we were jipped again.

wasn't pulled, it was set on sell out mode, and it sold out. I kinda wish they atleast ran this through our GMs before putting it out there, I mean we don't own shields obviously but you'd think that a paladin shop would have a better shield than a WM shop.

How do we know it was sell-out mode and not pulled? A Warmie I spoke with last night told me it was pulled.

I don't really care what guild got it, I'm glad the shield template was made.
I'm glad to see an effective shield like that in the game and selling for a not-so-insane price (7 plat lirum). Add that to the fact that it wasn't just called 'a big shield', which probably also inflated it's price.
I hope that this means GMs will be willing to toss one or two in our own shop and not have them cost 50plat+ sometime soon.

That would be the paladin appraise of it up there. Personally I'm very happy to have gotten one of these shields. I assume they have been pulled and paladin's can rejoice that no one else will get to have one. It quite saddens me that when something good is released that so many people are quick to jump on the only we should have it type idea. Barbs are complaining cause we have nice leathers ect. Maybe all the good stuff will get pulled cause it infringes on other guilds stong suits and then everyone can be happy. Personally I would have thought paladin's would be happy cause they would be able to get the shields in their own hands, though I realize it wouldn't have been from your own shop, but now no one else does get to have em.

There is no drawback to being armor tert, just to being magic tert? You get the good spells, and you get the good armor, too? btw, it wasn't a paladin who pulled it, was it? That act was done by a GM, so go tell the GMs how they are ruining the fun for all the War Mages, not us.

>tap shield
You tap a steel shield shaped to resemble a large dragon's scale that you are holding.
>look shield
As large as most tower shields, the gleaming black surface of the shield has been cast in the form of a large scale, which glistens as though still wet. The image of a roaring dragon alighting on the spire of a mountain with charred foes lying at its feet has been etched on the surface of the shield and then chased with gold.
>appraise my shield careful
You are certain that it imposes a moderate maneuvering hinderance.
You are certain that the shield offers fair to impressive protection.
You are certain that the steel shield is fairly sturdy, and is in pristine condition.
The steel shield is made with metal.
It appears that the steel shield can be slung over one shoulder.
The steel shield has a bit of weight to it.
You are certain that the steel shield is worth exactly 70000 lirums.
Roundtime: 16 seconds.
Weighed it in MAMAs before I left Crossing to acquire an orlog. 140 stones.
It was located in the room selling the winners of an armor contest a while back.
(On the Grand-Prize mannequin you see a steel shield shaped to resemble a large dragon's scale, a finely tooled black leather battle cowl with a horned crest, some scale-embossed black leather gloves with spiked forearm guards and some scale-embossed battle leathers with shoulder spikes.)

What kind of powers do you have?
Do you use them for good or for awesome?

<<Don't be mistaken, Beliel. I don't mind the warmie guild having good shields... as long as paladin guild gets good shields as well. Just don't see much point to restricting availability of good shieldsto one guild's own personal shop.>>
Oh I fully agree, I realize my last post may have not been the best. Just gets to me after a while how everything gets restricted to a certain guild. Shield being tert and my main defense means I've very dedicated to it and love it. I'd love to see great shields for all. Having that shield stay in the war mage shop would certainly mean you would get something similar down the road in yours, having it pulled to me means a far lesser chance of that happening. Twas only how fast people were to jump on that, and seeing many other things like it recently that made me post here. I generally try and stay out of other guilds folders. Having it stay would have benefited everyone, having it pulled would benefit no one. Just wanted to try and bring that point across is all.

The only way I can imagine to discuss this would probably come out entirely as guild vs guild debate. I already feel blamed for your losing that shield in your shop, and I never even knew about it till now, and now I realize that all us paladins are at fault for you war mages not having better shields that us. I dunno. Maybe it has something to do with you guys having more and better spells than we have. The Mages are supposed to be thw smart ones, You figure it out. ;-)

Humm when DR and forging 2.0 come out guild will mean nothing when it comes to who creates the best stuff or what guild it's related to.Everyone is gonna have the same choice to spend tdp's on buying forging skill. So whats to say some old mage is a exellent shield maker and supplies a few to the war mage shop?

Ok folks, lets cool off and not turn this into a guild vs. guild debate.

Except we will be paying 100's of plats for a 7 plat shield.
Also, we were told previously that our guild shop could not sell better than average store quality items. Why is it different for the Warmie guild shop?
